Pelosi blames MAGA Republicans for Colorado nightclub shooting before motive has been established

While a motive has yet to be identified after a suspect reportedly opened fire at a Colorado nightclub killing five and injuring more than 20 others, the left has seen fit to blame Republican “hatred” once more with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) leading the charge of MAGA “cruelly undermining the safety” of the “transgender community.”

Before many had even learned that a 22-year-old had allegedly fired upon the crowd at the Colorado Springs LGBTQ establishment Club Q, the San Francisco congresswoman had released two separate statements politicizing the tragedy. After initially leveraging the attack as a call “to combat gun violence,” Pelosi took it upon herself to launch an unwarranted salvo at conservatives who’ve stood to defend the innocence of America’s youngest citizens.

In her second statement on the topic, coupled with remarks in honor of the Transgender Day of Remembrance, the speaker quickly drew lines and detailed, “the House Democratic Caucus mourns the countless Americans stolen away by the scourge of transphobic violence, a crisis that continues to disproportionately harm trans people of color.”

“Today, and every day, let us offer comfort to grieving loved ones, honor the memory of those killed and continue fighting to save lives from the wicked forces of hate,” she went on before beginning an attack of her own against the GOP. “That fight remains more urgent than ever, as right-wing extremists target transgender Americans’ most fundamental rights and freedoms. Whether spouting dangerous rhetoric from cable news desks or openly bullying schoolchildren from the halls of power, MAGA Republicans are cruelly undermining the safety and well-being of our transgender community.”

“Horrified by such shameless bigotry, House Democrats are proud to march alongside our trans friends, neighbors and siblings as we work to uphold justice and dignity for all,” Pelosi continued, despite little actually being known about the suspect.

Meanwhile, her initial remarks included her stating, “The attack on Club Q, on the eve of Transgender Day of Remembrance, is despicable–further shattering the sense of safety of LGBTQ Americans across the country. While Democrats have taken steps to combat gun violence, this deadly attack is a reminder that we must do more.”

The notion that Democrats had done anything in their progressive havens but exacerbate the problem was not overlooked as Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was reamed for her own outrage when she tweeted, “I’m sick of this sh*t. How many people need to be murdered? How many lives town apart? Until it actually stops? We don’t have to live like this. And we don’t have to die like this.”

As reported, responses to Lightfoot’s outrage included the reality checks that “615 people have been shot to death in Chicago this year,” and “You’re the mayor of the murder [capital] of the US, Chicago. Sit down.”

Still, rather than wait for the full details of the investigation to emerge, or for corporate media to step in to cool the heated polarization, they have also fanned the flames after it was learned that the suspect’s grandfather is believed to be outgoing California state Assemblyman Randy Voepel, a pro-MAGA Republican.

Not only has Voepel, who lost his August primary to continue representing the 71st district, shown support for conservative causes, but he was also pegged as an extremist following the breach of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, after which, as previously reported, he was quoted as saying, “This is Lexington and Concord. First shots fired against tyranny. Tyranny will follow in the aftermath of the Biden swear in on January 20th.”

While Pelosi seemed bent on tackling the first two constitutionally protected, God-given rights of American citizens, she went on to conclude, “Together we will forge a safer, more just America–one where all of its people can freely and proudly exercise their right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
