Hidden camera shows Dem senator’s wife openly dish on deceptive ways they get support for bills

Senator Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), in a reelection battle that is suddenly more competitive than it appeared to be in the summer, has had the curtain pulled back on his elitist agenda thanks to undercover journalism. His wife, Susan Daggett, was recorded saying some disparaging things about how our democracy works behind closed doors.

Journalists with Accuracy in Media, evidently disguised as Democrat canvassers, made an undercover video of Daggett, who made revealing comments on police and inflation strategies.

Daggett, a law professor at the University of Denver, was first engaged on the topic of defunding the police.

“I think Michael would say calling it ‘defund the police’ was probably not the smartest move at the outset,” said Daggett. “Probably the smartest thing is to try to take the temperature down and, you know, just quietly… The most successful efforts in Washington, D.C., are the ones that you never see on the front page of the paper.”

In other words, defunding the police is good and right. But you can’t come right out and say it because the rubes who are still allowed to vote might not like it. They must be kept in the dark, or we elites will never be able to do what is best.

“The most successful efforts – I love that,” prompted one of the journalists.

“Yeah, the things that nobody is talking about,” Daggett responded, “and that’s where the success happens, because then you can work together, and you know, so like, we need to just – we’re talking about it for half a second, and let the temperatures come down and then quietly allocate some funding to mental health, right? And to interventions that can help and maybe not call it police reform. There’s just strategically ways to do it that would be just as effective, but, you know, not raise the flag.”

Apparently, this is how the modern law professor talks, like, you know, just not raising the flag. Cringe.

It is hard not thinking about the conversation between the senator and his wife when this video was released and Bennet’s GOP opponent in the race, Joe O’Dea started capitalizing on it. It must not have been a happy day in their marriage. But when you walk in the shadows and the light is turned on, ‘uncomfortable’ does not begin to describe it.

The journalists interviewing the disarmed wife of a senator likened the secretive approach on police reform to what Democrats did with the Inflation Reduction Act.

“Isn’t that what they did with the inflation bill?” prompted the visitors. “Like, so many great things happened in that bill.”

“Yeah, so many climate things,” said the disarmed elitist. “We don’t talk about it. Just, just yeah.”

“It’s all about inflation,” prompted the interviewer with a wink and a nod. The law professor laughed and nodded.

O’Dea now has proof of how radical the senator is and how underhanded Democrats are, and he is making hay in campaign speeches. This bit of honest information could be worth a few thousand votes among independents and enough to change the outcome today.

Bennet’s lead in August was 9-11 points, but he is now running just 2 points ahead in a recent Trafalgar poll. This precipitated a shift in rating for the race to the “toss-up” category. Most expect Bennet to pull it out, but if this is truly a wave election, he could be in danger. So much the more with this development.

Joe O’Dea’s campaign manager Zack Roday spoke with Fox News Digital about the revealing video.

“It’s that quiet part out loud now,” he said. “Even on the Inflation Reduction Act, flat out admitting that that wasn’t the intent of the legislation and laughing about the title of it – the media and the Democrats called it that until the moment it was passed, and then it became a climate bill, and that’s exactly what Michael Bennet did in terms of how he talked about it.”

“And it’s just it’s so disappointing because this is exactly what so many fear about radical leadership under the Biden-Bennet agenda,” he added. “It’s that they’re truly trying to pull a fast one on the American people. She admits what, in fact, the agenda has been for the last two years.”

Roday also referred to the part of the video that addressed police policy.

“One of the biggest solutions to reducing crime is more cops. We need to champion them,” he said. “We need to give them the funding they need, and that’s part of the reason that the Democrats are going to fall on November 8th tomorrow is because they’re just out of touch.”

Bennet’s campaign was not amused by the tactics employed by Accuracy in Media or the party that sanctions such activity. The campaign accused the journalists of secretly taping Daggett under false pretenses and selectively editing the video.

Bennet campaign manager Justin Lamorte said in a statement to Fox News, “This isn’t journalism, it’s despicable ambush theater. It’s disgusting that Joe O’Dea and his campaign are endorsing this tactic. Taking aim at a candidate’s wife is straight out of the Donald Trump playbook.”

Ambush theater. Right. But when you walk in the shadows as a representative of the people, somebody has to shine the light. As a senator or other elected official in this country, you’re not supposed to be deceitful and underhanded. Being found out sucks if you’re the one discovered. But it’s really good for everyone else. Honest information is the very best information.

Accuracy in Media President Adam Guillette made that point in a statement to Fox News.

“I love that police officers wear body cams,” Guillette said. “And I’d love a world where politicians wore body cams. The next best thing is an investigative journalist with a hidden camera.”

Democrats love saying democracy is on the ballot. That seems to be true, but not for the reasons they say. When radicals rule by deception, a democracy is threatened. Today’s vote could be a referendum on the kind of oligarchical rule we find ourselves under.
