‘Hands off my kids!’ Sparks fly on Fox News when guest pushes Covid vax for kids, defends school closings

The debate over the damage done to kids by lockdowns and school closures turned contentious on Fox News when a Democrat congressional candidate defended the damage done to children whose education and development was tragically interrupted by COVID measures championed by the likes of the American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten and the Biden administration.

Sparks flew on Tuesday’s edition of “The Faulkner Focus” when American Conservative Union leader Matt Schlapp and radical Ohio Democrat Desiree Tims butted heads as host Harris Faulkner did her best to prevent the segment from careening completely off the rails.

The segment kicked off with Tims staunchly defending the wrongheaded authoritarianism of Democrats despite the latest National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) evaluation that showed that reading and math scores for young students plunged in a big way from prior to the pandemic to this year.

After being given the floor first by Faulkner, Tims stuck up for Weingarten, a hyper-partisan activist who was one of the loudest and most influential voices in the nation for the cruelty inflicted on the nation’s children.

“I do think Randi is absolutely correct in that Washington Post article that this is not a red states versus blue states matter,” she began. “However, that being said we were in a global pandemic and parents rightfully as well as different educators and different policies kept their children home from COVID which at the time we didn’t know about this virus. We know bodies were dropping left and right and refrigerator trucks were filling the streets of New York.”

“Wait, you make it sound like we had a choice,” Faulkner interjected.

“We absolutely did not have a choice but to keep our children home and better yet, the story is not how many children died during COVID because we shoved them into classrooms,” Tims said. “We know that the COVID spread is very, very real so yeah. It’s something we have to fix, but it was a pandemic, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I have faith in our children’s ability to climb back to the top.”

Schlapp got a chance to throw in his two cents, “As the father of five daughters who went through this intimately as parents did across the country, our schools were shut and my kids go to Catholic schools. The state told them they also had to shut, but then they started to push back when they realized kids weren’t dying from the virus as was feared in the beginning,” he said, criticizing Democrats for their resistance to Republicans who wanted to reopen the schools.

Faulkner then tried to move on when Tims went after Schlapp by playing the disinformation card, “I just want to come back to COVID-19 disinformation that he just said. Children can absolutely get Covid-19 and they can die just as well.”

Both conservatives rebutted her talking points, while Tims interrupted with her message to the audience to “Please vaccinate your children and have them wear masks.”

“Are you a doctor?” Faulkner asked.

“My children will not be vaccinated,” Schlapp shot back, accusing the Democrat of spreading misinformation, noting that even the CDC wasn’t mandating kids to be vaccinated.

“Even the CDC says they are not saying it should be a mandate for kids to be vaccinated. Those vaccines are not approved for kids. It is wrong for you to say that,” he said.

The two continued to joust verbally with Schlapp exclaiming “Hands off my kids! They’re my kids,” as Tims continued to parrot her talking points about misinformation and disinformation until Faulker was able to right the ship and move the discussion along.
