President Joe Biden made a Baskin Robbins run while in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday and broke the internet when, with a mouthful of ice cream, he casually told a reporter that the U.S. “economy is strong as hell” and blamed the rest of the world for inflation.
“I’m not concerned about the strength of the dollar. I’m concerned about the rest of the world. Does that make sense?” Biden said.

When asked if he could explain his statement, Biden, while chewing on his waffle cone, stated, “Our economy is strong as hell. Inflation is worldwide. It’s worse off everywhere else than it is in the United States. So, the problem is the lack of economic growth and sound policy in other countries, not so much ours. It’s worldwide inflation. It’s consequential.”
The comment comes on the heels of the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which revealed that core inflation has reached a new 40-year high.
And in that stunning moment, Joe Biden brought a months-old meme that has been circling the internet to life.

On Twitter, the backlash was immediate and ranged from a healthy dose of mockery to full-blown anger from those Americans who are struggling just to make ends meet.
One user called the President’s off-the-cuff comment an “absolute slap in the face to millions of hardworking Americans struggling to afford basic necessities under the Biden Regime.”
“It is not possible to be more out of touch,” tweeted Republican strategist Matt Wolking.
“Our economy is in a #BidenRecession that’s expected to worsen this winter and that ice cream cone he’s gobbling on costs 12.5% more than last year,” noted a third Twitter user.

Others were stuck on how brilliantly life with President Biden now imitates art.
“Who says the Left can’t meme,” one user tweeted. “Biden *is* a meme.”
“He is his own parody,” another observed.
“Jokes writing themselves,” quipped a third.
Who says the Left can’t meme. Biden *is* a meme.

Biden’s stop in Portland marked his second in a three-state tour that included California, where he caused an uproar for once again getting a little too friendly for comfort with a young girl.

He will also visit Colorado, according to Fox News, before returning to Washington, D.C.
With just 22 days left before the midterm elections, Biden is attempting to drum up voter support for Democrats.
“His visit to Portland was particularly notable as Democrats are in a position to potentially lose the governor’s mansion for the first time in decades, drawing attention from the White House,” Fox News reports.
But one must wonder if it’s the kind of attention Democratic candidates really want.
As American Wire News reported back in August, many Democrats have been distancing themselves from Biden’s destructive policies in a bid to keep their jobs.

So it’s hard to imagine, as more and more Americans are making tough choices between things like food and gas to get to work, what Joe Biden could possibly do to boost anyone’s confidence.
But, as one user on Twitter noted, “They can get him to do and say anything with ice cream.”
