84-year-old pro-life volunteer canvassing Michigan neighborhood shot after ‘heated’ exchange

An 84-year-old lady was shot in the back/shoulder area early last week as she canvassed in her home town handing out pro-life brochures door-to-door.

Although the wounded woman stated she is uncertain of the reason she was shot, the incident came as she was walking away from a heated conversation at a home while volunteering for Right to Life of Michigan.

The incident occurred in Lake Odessa, population 2,182, in western Michigan between Lansing and Grand Rapids. The lady was volunteering to inform her community of the dangers lurking in Michigan Proposal 3 that will appear on the Michigan ballot in November. The victim has stated that the man who shot her was not involved in the conversation.

“The victim does not know the identity or motive of her shooter,” Michigan Right to Life said in in its release. “The victim is still recovering from her gunshot wound and wishes to remain anonymous while the criminal investigation proceeds.”

According to State Police, the 84-year-old woman incredibly drove herself to the Lake Odessa Police Department after she was shot. She was then taken to an area hospital, where she was treated and released.

Considering the ongoing spate of violent attacks in Michigan and across the nation by pro-abortion fascists, the reason behind her shooting is certainly suspect.

Michigan State Police is investigating the incident. The case remains open and the results of the investigation will be forwarded to the Ionia County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

“We’re glad the victim is recovering, and our volunteers will continue knocking doors on Proposal 3,” Right to Life of Michigan official Chris Gast told Fox News Digital on Saturday.

“Proposal 3 would provide for a state constitutional right to reproductive freedom,” according to Ballotopedia, “The term reproductive freedom would be defined as “the right to make and effectuate decisions about all matters relating to pregnancy, including but not limited to prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, contraception, sterilization, abortion care, miscarriage management, and infertility care.”

The ballot initiative would provide that the state can regulate abortion after fetal viability, except that the state could not ban the use of abortion to ‘protect the life or physical or mental health of the pregnant individual,’ as determined by an attending health care professional”

Opponents both old and young have turned out to educate their neighbors on exactly what Proposition would mean for the unborn victims.

A group known as Reproductive Freedom for All collected signatures to place Proposal 3 on the ballot and continues to advocate for its passage.

Polling apparently shows more support for than opposition to Prop 3, especially, of course, among Democrats.
