Mike Pompeo: It’s no joke, ‘an open border is an attack on our sovereignty’

Progressives are being confronted with the ramifications of their terrible policies pertaining to border security and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo unequivocally noted how “an open border is an attack on our sovereignty.”

However, reactions to his social media post showed that there should be as much concern for the ideology facilitating the crisis.

Since former President Donald Trump’s administration drew to a close, Pompeo has remained vocal in the promotion of conservative values and an America first agenda. After Gov. Ron DeSantis escalated the initiative of busing illegal aliens to so-called sanctuary cities by flying some to Martha’s Vineyard, the chairman of the Champion American Values Political Action Committee (CAVPAC) gave his take on how funny the left’s response would be if the situation weren’t so deadly serious.

“It’s almost comical to see liberals suddenly react to the costs of illegal immigration,” he wrote after the people of Martha’s Vineyard had seen to it that the illegals had been removed from their posh island. “But the border crisis is no laughing matter.”

“Americans are dying from record fentanyl overdoses,” Pompeo continued. “Crime is up. And an open border is an attack on our sovereignty.”

Much like how DeSantis had called out President Joe Biden for his continued failure to address the thousands of daily border crossings with record numbers of “gotaways” and the smuggling of enough deadly drugs to wipe out the populations of entire cities, the former secretary of state zeroed in the far-reaching effects of the improperly tended U.S.-Mexico border and had also reminded, “By dismantling the effective border policies that we put in place, the Biden Administration has turned every state into a border state.”

The Twitter mob was too busy buying into Vice President Kamala Harris’ claim that the “border is secure” to see the evidence right in front of them as they lashed out at Pompeo with denialist arguments like, “The border is not ‘open’. Otherwise apprehensions at the border would be non-existent, since anybody could just waltz right on in.”

The claims were as off the mark as White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre who, a few weeks earlier, had argued that illegal aliens weren’t readily entering the United States on foot as she tried, “But that’s not, it’s not like somebody walks over and-”

“That’s exactly what’s happening,” Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy corrected. “Thousands of people are walking in a day. Some of them turn themselves over. Some of them are caught. Tens of thousands a week are not. That is what is happening.”

Further shots at Pompeo conflated the issues of illegal entry into the country and the conservative-supported legal immigration system and called into question the secretary’s faith and military service.
