Doc who challenged COVID narrative, joined J6 protests released from jail under Trump’s First Step Act

As violent criminals walk free with laundry lists of prior offenses and first-time peaceful protestors remain incarcerated for aligning with the wrong political party, widely-known physician and lawyer Dr. Simone Gold was released from prison Friday under provisions of former President Donald Trump’s First Step Act.

Gold, founder of America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS), became something of an infamous character among COVID zealots as she stood up early to the public-private partnership between the government and the pharmaceutical industry for the promotion of lockdowns and vaccines where targeted isolation and cheap, readily available remedies would have sufficed.

So outspoken was the doctor in her quest to break through the suppression of viable treatment methods, like ivermectin, that she joined protests at the Capitol on Jan. 6 to amplify her voice for which she pleaded guilty and was ultimately sentenced to 60 days in prison.

On Friday she was released early thanks to the First Step Act of 2018, having served 48 days of that sentence as was announced by her social media account. “BREAKING: Dr. Simone Gold will be released from prison early under the First Step Act of 2018. She is set to be released today. Welcome back, Dr. Gold!”

Passed on December 18, 2018, the First Step Act was part of Trump’s efforts at criminal justice reform that required a risk assessment of recidivism and sought to introduce programs that would help limit the chances of repeat offenses to alleviate prison populations and truly help those convicted set themselves on a new path.

Outspoken in defense of Gold, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) was there to meet her upon her release and offer her an American flag over U.S. Capitol to recognize her patriotism.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from Congressman Gohmert, a true believer in freedom and a fierce defender of our constitutional rights,” the doctor posted to Twitter.

She also reportedly stated, “I am incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from the public, and I am happy to finally be reunited with my loved ones. Thank you for believing in me. I will not let you down.”

Of course, while studies on the effectiveness of alternative treatments for COVID continue to be throttled by corporate and social media and the narrative on Jan. 6 remains a one-dimensional story on insurrection with no room for degrees of culpability, Gold received as much vitriol from those who feel her sentencing should have been worse as she did from those glad to see she was released and hopeful that she may one day be pardoned.

Many weren’t even aware of what crime it was Gold had been convicted of as they cast their judgments upon her, showing just how successful has been the campaign to smear all present when the Capitol was breached as traitors to the United States.

In her plea, Gold admitted to being near an officer who had been assaulted, but not to assaulting anyone herself.

Now that the doctor has been released, she is still expected to pay a fine of $9,500 as she undergoes one year of supervised release.
