‘Euphoria’ actress hits back at mob pouncing on mom’s birthday party pics with MAGA-ish hats

Trump Derangement Syndrome is real, and soon even the color red may be forbidden in the public square, as evidenced by the complete and predictable meltdown from fans of the show “Euphoria” when one of the young stars innocently posted pictures of a birthday celebration for her mom on Instagram.

Sydney Sweeney, who plays promiscuous California teenager Cassie Howard in the HBO teen drama which centers around everything from sex and drugs to child abuse and human trafficking, became the latest target of the Left when it was speculated by some on social media that maybe her family didn’t align with the presumptive and so-called progressive views expected of actors and actresses in Hollywood.

After posting a series of photos to Instagram of the “hoedown’ celebrating her mother’s 60th birthday, taken on what was clearly ranch property and complete with a mechanical bull, the 24-year-old had to take to social media and defend the innocuous family photographs when some internet gumshoes noticed a person who may have been wearing a “Blue Lives Matter” shirt at the celebration.

Some more sleuthing by those petulant children revealed that some people also wore red hats with the familiar white lettering of Make America Great Again, except that the custom-made apparel for the party read, “Make Sixty Great Again,” according to brother Trent Sweeney. Given that first-rate detective work, who needs the FBI and armed IRS agents?

“You guys this is wild,” she tweeted. “An innocent celebration for my moms milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone ♥️ and Happy Birthday Mom!”

Some of the pseudo-clever jabs aimed at Trent included, “Where were you on Jan. 6?” while another mockingly commented, “Trump era is over baby boy.”

While some appreciated the photos for exactly what they were, too many of the most maladjusted among us couldn’t help but offer their two cents and advised that Sweeney should estrange herself from her own family.

“Is this what the world is now. You have to cancel family members that don’t agree with you politically. Weird times man,” wrote one, garnering this reply:

“Yes, as you should. Because political differences are no longer about finances and taxes, it’s about civil rights, with one side striving to ensure only straight white men have them. Why would you continue to associate with people like this?”

And the illness just continues to fester …

But some pointed out the ridiculousness of the whole thing.

And perhaps the best retort to the madness:
