Panicked pregnant woman prevented from entering ER by callous Fla cop after her husband honked at him

Imagine being seven weeks pregnant in triple-digit Florida heat, racing with your husband behind the wheel to the emergency room because you think you’re having your second miscarriage, and finding a cop blocking the ER entrance with his car while he chit-chats with another officer — then being detained for 20 potentially life-threatening minutes because the guy with the badge is angry that a panic-stricken father-to-be honked at him to move.

This is the surreal scenario in which Sabrina Enciso, 32, found herself on July 28, as she and her husband, Kevin Enciso, 28, headed for Jackson West Medical Center on doctor’s orders, to address the pain Sabrina was experiencing from a car accident the previous day.

As Kevin approached the entrance to the hospital, his frightened wife and their unborn baby beside him, he came upon two Miami-Dade deputies talking to each other from their cars, blocking him from the hospital doors just a few hundred yards ahead of him, the Daily Mail reports.

To alert the officers of their approach, Kevin tapped his horn.

One officer quickly moved, but the second decided this was a good excuse for a traffic stop.

The entire ordeal was caught on video.

“What are you pulling me over for?” Kevin can be heard asking the cop.

“Sir, give me your license,” Officer Daniels replied.

Arguing that he didn’t “commit a crime,” Kevin refused.

“I honked at you very nicely — one time — for you to move out of the way,” he told Daniels. “I have an emergency. That is why I’m at the emergency room for my wife.”

Later, Sabrina tells Daniels, “I think I’m going to miscarry.”

Kevin was directed to exit his vehicle and Sabrina followed.

“Oh, so you’re okay now?” the officer asked snidely.

“I had an accident,” Sabrina explained. “I’m having a lot of pain.”

Shockingly, though the incident took place literally right outside the hospital, Officer Daniels called Fire and Rescue, further delaying Sabrina’s care.

“She’s alert,” he can be heard telling dispatch. “She’s breathing.”

While Kevin continued to deny Daniels his license, Sabrina’s breathing became labored.

“I think I’m getting ready to miscarry,” she told Daniels. “I am coming to the ER today because that’s what my doctor stated I needed to do, to make sure I don’t lose this child.”

When Fire and Rescue finally arrived and took Sabrina’s vitals, they stated that her blood pressure was “sky rocketing.”

Only then was she cleared to enter the ER. Kevin was warned to never again honk at a police officer.

“We had a miscarriage last year, and so the fear of it happening all over again was pretty terrible,” Sabrina told the Daily Mail. “I was about six or seven weeks [pregnant] – the time where anything can happen. I was really red and upset, I was crying at that point.”

After several more hours in the emergency room, the Encisos gratefully learned that not only is Sabrina still pregnant — she’s having twins. But the disturbing encounter with Daniels caught the couple by surprise.

“We were in shock that someone was taking advantage of this moment, and I don’t know if the police officer had a bad day, but we were completely caught off guard,” Sabrina said. “We need to hold him fully accountable.”

The parents-to-be filed a complaint against the Miami-Dade Police Department, alleging that their civil rights were violated.

In an interview with local station WPLG, attorney Natasha Harrison stated, “A police officer can not pull someone over and then look for something to justify the reasoning.”

“He said, ‘Okay, well you’re having an emergency, so I’m going to call rescue’ and I even said in the video, ‘I don’t need rescue, I’m in the emergency room, I don’t need it’ and he proceeded to call it anyway,” Sabrina Enciso said of the officer in the encounter.

“It could’ve went in a different direction, we would be having a different conversation,” she added.

According to the news outlet, a spokesperson for Miami-Dade police indicated that an internal affairs investigation has been launched.
