CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht is scaring the pants off employees at the leftist network, informing them that they may not understand or like what is coming in an ongoing shakeup that just saw anchor Brian Stelter get the boot.
Licht has been warning that he would reassess the talent over at CNN and he has been good to his word. His goal is to reportedly tamp down the extreme leftist partisanship that has consumed CNN in recent years.
“I want to acknowledge that this is a time of significant change, and I know that many of you are unsettled,” Licht told CNN staff, according to numerous sources who attended an editorial meeting call on Friday. “There will be more changes, and you might not understand it or like it.”
One staffer told Deadline in an interview, “No one is safe or secure right now.”

“I think people are legitimately sad that Brian is leaving,” an anonymous source at CNN told the Hollywood Reporter. “He was a big presence at the network — but understand that Chris has to put his stamp on the network.”
Source: Stelter was a ‘go’ because “he was seen as working against current management’s goals. Leaking, stirring disatisfaction internally.” One CNN source went on to say “He started believing he was the only thing between ‘democracy’ and anarchy”

Disgraced CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who was sadly caught masturbating on a Zoom call and who had been rehired by CNN, was also understandably let go. Don Lemon is rumored to be on the chopping block as well.
According to Deadline, billionaire investor John Malone wants CNN to “evolve back to the kind of journalism that it started with, and actually have journalists.” He is one of the biggest investors in CNN’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery.
"New CNN CEO Tells Employees, 'You Might Not Like or Understand' What's Coming"
New CNN chairman & CEO Chris Licht has his work cut out for him in trying to turn around the fortunes of CNN, & stop the bleeding in both revenue and viewership. Canning Stelter was just the beginning— Gray Wolf (@graywolf442) August 22, 2022
Stelter was one of the loudest at the network to carp that Malone’s intention of restoring unbiased reporting at the network “stoked fears that Discovery might stifle CNN journalists and steer away from calling out indecency and injustice.”
“Reliable Sources” reporter Oliver Darcy announced on social media Thursday that he would remain at CNN according to Deadline. That assertion was reiterated in Thursday’s newsletter. Licht made a point of noting Darcy’s role and future plans, “Oliver Darcy will be working on a reimagined ‘Reliable Sources’ newsletter,” he told staff. “We will be expanding. We hope to relaunch in the next few weeks.”
Stelter was just the beginning. Well, Cuomo was. Then Zucker, but you know what I mean. Anyway, CNN Boss Chris Licht has warned employees to brace for "more changes" that they may not like. Who's next?? Lemon? Acosta? Licht is planning to make CNN like it used to be: NEWS

In another incident showing fear is running rampant at the network, a person within CNN told Deadline that the decision to get rid of Stelter was “coming from above.” They also allegedly said, “If this isn’t coming from John Malone directly, it sure represents his thinking with lieutenants doing his bidding.”
Following the termination of CNN chief Jeff Zucker, CNN staffers were told over the summer by Licht that he understood the network had undergone a lot of changes in a brief span of time.
“You heard me say in my first town hall that I am going to make decisions slower than some would like,” Licht commented at the time. “I know this organization has been through tremendous change over the last four months, which is why I am approaching this process slowly and thoughtfully as we look at all parts of the operation. We will realign where it makes sense to best serve our people and the business.”
CNN is now reportedly lifting its hiring freeze.
