Trump calls for release of ‘completely unredacted’ Mar-a-Lago affidavit; CBS falsely reports no passports were taken

Former President Trump took to social media Monday night to rail against the FBI and demand the immediate release of the “completely unredacted” affidavit that was used to justify the raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence.

The Department of Justice has filed a motion to block the release of the affidavit used to search the Florida mansion claiming that it could potentially scuttle future investigations on the subject matter and torpedo the prosecution of the former president. They are also rolling out the national security excuse.

“There is no way to justify the unannounced RAID of Mar-a-Lago,” Trump stated on Truth Social. “The home of the 45th President of the United States (who got more votes, by far, than any sitting President in the history of our Country!)”

He also slammed “gun toting FBI Agents” and “the Department of ‘Justice’” in the post as anger mounts in America concerning the unprecedented move against a former president.

“But, in the interest of TRANSPARENCY, I call for the immediate release of the completely Unredacted Affidavit pertaining to this horrible and shocking BREAK-IN,” Trump raged. “Also, the Judge on this case should recuse!”

Many contend that the real reason the DOJ does not want the affidavit exposed to sunlight is that it would further damn their thuggish actions against Trump. The move makes it look as if the federal government is once again hiding stuff and lying about the former president.

The DOJ told the court that it would comply with partially unsealing the affidavit, according to Fox News. But the agency “respectfully requests an opportunity to provide the Court with proposed redactions.”

The warrant to search Trump’s residence was unsealed on Friday after the government had “determined that these materials could be released without significant harm to its investigation,” the Justice Department wrote. But the affidavit, where the rubber meets the road on the raid, will most likely be kept under wraps… at least partially.

In an effort at damage control, the Justice Department said it would not oppose the release of other documents related to the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago, including the warrant’s cover sheets.

Trump is adamant that the searches and seizures are part of a fishing expedition by the left that is aimed at keeping him from running for the presidency again.

“Wow! In the raid by the FBI of Mar-a-Lago, they stole my three Passports (one expired), along with everything else,” he wrote on Truth Social Monday. “This is an assault on a political opponent at a level never seen before in our Country.”

CBS News immediately provided cover against the claim, stating that the agency had not seized the passports. A spokesman for Trump blasted the leftist media outlet over it.

CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell tweeted, “According to a DOJ official, the FBI is NOT in possession of former President Trump’s passports,” later adding, “if any items not contained in the warrant were retrieved during the FBI search at Mar-a-Lago, they will be returned.”

Taylor Budowich, who is the director of communications for the Save America PAC and Donald J. Trump, appeared to shred that claim by sharing a screenshot of an email sent earlier in the day by Jay Bratt, an official in the National Security Division of the DOJ.

“We have learned that the filter agents seized three passports belonging to President Trump, two expired and one being his active diplomatic passport. We are returning them,” Bratt informed Trump’s attorneys Evan Corcoran and Jim Trusty.

“This is how Fake News works, folks,” Budowich said slamming O’Donnell’s tweet. “Biden admin actively feeds half truths & lies that the media willingly amplifies—advancing a partisan narrative to attack Trump.”

He asked O’Donnell, “Did your ‘source’ read you this email? Did you bother asking if they indeed seized the passports?”

“This is a perfect example of how the vital institutions of media and justice are being destroyed from within by the lazy, the corrupt, and the ill intent. Sadly, it’s not going to be fixed from the outside. It’s up to the remaining good people within these institutions to expose these bad actors and hold them accountable, or else be complicit in their destruction,” Budowich told Fox News.

Trump also told Fox News Digital in an interview that the “temperature has to be brought down,” and said he would do anything he could to help the country while this is going on. The former president also asserted that the American people are “not going to stand for another scam.”
