Trump says ‘temperature has to be brought down’ after FBI raid, willing to do ‘whatever’ to help

Former President Donald Trump positioned himself for a major political win Monday, at once calling out the FBI’s perceived abuse of power and offering a solution to ensure “the temperature…be brought down.”

Since last Monday, concerned citizens have been in an uproar over the FBI’s unprecedented raid of Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. So too has the president decried the brazen and unnecessary execution of a search warrant when there had been nothing but willful compliance with the Justice Department regarding open investigations leading up to that point.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Trump concluded, “The country is in a very dangerous position. There is tremendous anger, like I’ve never seen before, over all of the scams, and this new one — years of scams and witch hunts, and now this.”

With that said, he expressed his continued willingness to cooperate with the FBI, calling to question the extreme methods that they had used in sending more than 30 agents to seize documents from his home believed to have been mishandled classified materials. “If there is anything we can do to help, I, and my people, would certainly be willing to do that.”

“People are so angry at what is taking place. Whatever we can do to help — because the temperature has to be brought down in the country,” Trump went on to tell the outlet. “If it isn’t, terrible things are going to happen.”

Late Sunday, the president had also vented some of his frustration on Truth Social as he expressed continued outrage at the FBI and what harm the “political, not legal” search and seizure may have caused the nation.

“America has never suffered this kind of ABUSE in Law Enforcement! For the FBI to RAID the home of the 45 President of the United States, or any President for that matter, is totally unheard of and unthinkable. This Break In was a sneak attack on democracy (our Republic!), and was both unannounced and done at a time when the President was not even present. It was for political, not legal reasons, and our entire Country is angry, hurt, and greatly embarrassed by it. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

However, while Trump made overtures to reason and asserted two things that could simultaneously be true in wanting to help the investigation and being dismayed at the way it was handled, another full-blown case of Trump Derangement Syndrome overcame detractors from the left as calls for civility and order were deemed to be terroristic threats.

“I think they would want the same thing–I’ve never seen anything like this. It is a very dangerous time for our country,” Trump said to Fox News Digital which could just as easily be applied to the Twitter mob fuming that he hasn’t been dragged before a kangaroo court.

The president had said, “There has never been a time like this where law enforcement has been used to break into the house of a former president of the United States, and there is tremendous anger in the country–at a level that has never been seen before, other than during very perilous times,” and still put the ball in the FBI’s court to preserve decorum adding, “I will do whatever I can to help the country.”

For the moment, Trump appears to be out front on this matter and if the FBI ignores his offer, they will only look worse than they already do for the way they conducted the search warrant. As the president told Fox News, they were unsupervised during the raid and, “They could take anything they want, and put anything they want in. My people were asked to stand outside.”

Were they to actually accept Trump’s offer, both parties look good, but especially the president for a call to civility after pointing out the perceived impropriety that had taken place.

According to Fox News, the Justice Department and FBI declined to comment on the matter.
