Tim Ratcliff, a Hollywood restaurant owner, decided to try his hand at saving the day when he took out an alleged robber who had reportedly stolen from and then punched an elderly man.
Surveillance video of the incident shows the suspect assaulting someone who is not in clear view of the camera. As he attempts to flee the scene, Ratcliff stands up and gives chase. The restaurant owner can then be seen tackling the alleged thief as both roll off the sidewalk.
The good Samaritan’s girlfriend also rushed to help, as did another witness at the scene. The police were called, and Ratcliff continued to hold the suspect until the cops arrived, which took nearly nine minutes.

In an interview with FOX 11 LA, Ratcliff admitted that the impromptu wrestling match took quite the toll on his body.
“I was not gonna lie, the adrenaline was a lot at that point, and afterwards it was exhausting it felt like I had worked out the next day for quite a bit,” he said.
Unfortunately, these types of incidences aren’t on the decline, and even the police are getting fed up with the lack of accountability for criminals.
“Even one of the officers and I talked about it… they’re tired of it… a lot of people like myself are tired of this type of thing happening… we’re seeing more and more people just not putting up with it and taking it into their own hands… which I’m glad for… and I’d happily do it again,” Ratcliff explained.
Social media had a lot to say in response to the video:

I would completely agree with you as I was the one holding him down my girlfriend was kicking him when he tried to bite me and we warned him multiple time to stop trying and stop fighting me and he continued so that’s why he got kicked so he would stop biting me.

It’s a shame average people have to subdue thugs. In my younger years I remember the police doing that!

Good work my man. Feeding him that gravel at the end was outstanding

Does this mean the good Samaritan is going to be charged by the DA for assault and jailed now?
I mean, it *is* Los Angeles after all, where anyone who actually does a good deed is eventually jailed and their entire life ruined.— Nonya Damnbusiness🐻 (@iball) August 14, 2022
Cops have training and taser’s. We hold them to a higher standard because of that. If you wanna sucker punch someone and a citizen jumps in, all bets are off and you get everything coming to you. Mutual combat on a level playing field.

I would hope a Cop would have, at the very
least, tased him a few dozen times!
I don’t see excessive force, I see
a wrestler, wrestling him to the ground
& pinning him! A few scrapes maybe,
but nothing permanent! All good! 👍🤨— NuclearMAGASuzieQ (@AmericanSuzieQ) August 15, 2022
