Jesse Watters on Mar-a-Lago raid; ‘How do we know they’re not planting evidence right now?’

The raid on former President Donald J. Trump’s South Florida residence has many calling for answers from a Justice Department that remains tight-lipped over why more than two dozen FBI agents and a safecracker were deployed in an outrageous move straight out of a banana republic that may end up backfiring on the regime.

Fox News anchor Jesse Watters said that anger over the storming of Mar-a-Lago – allegedly over the Federal Records Act –  has energized Trump’s base, that he personally feels “violated” over the raid and that there may have been ulterior motives for the unprecedented action authorized by a warrant from a judge with a sketchy background.

On Tuesday’s edition of “The Five,” Watters suggested that the FBI may have planted evidence to be used against Trump and that one purpose of the raid may have been to spook GOP donors into having second thoughts about investing in a 2024 White House run by the most persecuted political figure in the nation’s history.

“I’ve never seen a base more energized and more angry,” he said. “I’m angry, I feel violated, the whole country feels violated, it’s disgusting. They’ve declared war on us and now it’s game. Imagine you are Eric Trump and you are at Mar-a-Lago, that’s your home. Your mother just died a few weeks ago. It’s unbelievable. The Presidential Records Act, Greg? That’s like a librarian sending the armed agents into your house. The Presidential Records Act?”

“First of all we can’t even trust this warrant wasn’t corrupt,” he continued. “I mean, they cooked up a fake warrant last time when they spied on the Trump campaign. They doctored evidence, they forged documents to get it. How do we know they’re not planting evidence right now?” Watters asked, noting that it wouldn’t be the first time that such a thing was done.

“You can’t trust this judge, they said ‘oh a judge must have signed off on it.’ The judge is an Obama donor. The judge defended Jeffrey Epstein’s team, you can’t trust this guy,” Watters said, pointing out that Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart donated to Barack Obama and quit his U.S. attorney’s job to defend the billionaire sex pervert’s cohorts.

“So they go in, they’ll probably do a fishing expedition,” he said. “God knows what they’re going to find or plant or fake,” he said. “But it’s also trying to freeze the Trump base, you know ‘are you gonna vote for this guy? You know he could be indicted soon,’ it’s telling the Republican donors ‘hey, don’t donate to this guy,’ Republican corporate guys, ‘don’t donate to this guy, he’s toxic, you don’t want to go near him,’ that’s what’s going on. It’s intimidation, it’s bullying.”

Also raising the possibility that the FBI could have planted evidence was former GOP Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich who appeared on “The Charlie Kirk Show” on Tuesday and likened Biden’s FBI to an “American Stasi,” a reference to the notorious East German secret police.

“You have a fake committee being covered by the fake news with a fake FBI, uh, which by the way, you’ll notice they didn’t allow anybody on the Trump side into Mar-a-Lago. So we have no idea whether or not they planted evidence,” Newt said.

“Well, first of all, they’ve been building up to this. I mean, if you look at the number of people whose rights they have abused going back before the current head of the FBI, there’s been a consistent pattern of an effort to intimidate Americans,” he added. “And basically to say to us, ‘If you stand up to us, this is what’s gonna happen to you. If we can do this to Trump, imagine what we can do to you.’”

“Second, I think their end game is to get Trump into a jury in Washington, D.C., which is an area where he got 4% of the vote — and preferably in front of an Obama judge and then grind him down,” Gingrich said.
