Posters spotted behind clueless activist griping about migrants bussed to NYC send heads to desks

Following Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) sending busloads of illegal immigrants to Washington, D.C., and New York City, the cry of outrage from leftists in those sanctuary cities has been nothing short of hypocritically epic.

Democrat leaders have alluded to a few buses of illegal immigrants arriving in their cities as being apocalyptic and tantamount to a destructive event while thousands arrive in small towns and cities in the US every day from across the border. There was no outcry until it started to affect liberal enclaves, which tells you all you need to know about the situation.

And nothing is more indicative of the hypocrisy of the whole issue than the executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition, Murad Awawdeh, appearing on CNN to bemoan how unfair and catastrophic it is to bus illegal immigrants 2,000 miles to the Big Apple while millions are invading the country.

“You know, asylum seekers have really already made a dangerous trek, some over 3,000 miles on foot to get to the southern border, and then are being bussed almost 2,000 miles to New York City. I think that the bigger piece here is ensuring we see the humanity in people,” Awawdeh said with a straight face while failing to notice the two illuminating posters directly behind him.

“Folks who are seeking asylum at our southern border are fleeing violence. They’re fleeing persecution, impacts of climate change. No one leaves their home because they feel safe. So, it’s really important that this country, a country of immigrants, continues to welcome folks and abide by its humanitarian, you know, values,” he remarked.

While the immigration activist may have overlooked the posters directly behind him, others did not.

They ironically stated the exact opposite of what he was promoting such as “Immigrants are welcome here” and “NYC is for all.” His posturing indicated he has no self-awareness whatsoever, evidently.

This is the same guy who called Abbott a “bigot” in a statement, saying, “Texas Governor Greg Abbott continues to prove he’s a cold-hearted publicity-seeking bigot, bent on bolstering his polling numbers no matter who pays the cost for it.”

“In this case, it’s vulnerable asylum seekers who have been dragged into his games of political retribution. His callousness has real consequences and hurts the individuals and families who have come to the United States fleeing persecution, violence, and climate disaster as they are lawfully entitled to do,” he continued.

“This crisis is self-manufactured and puts vulnerable immigrant families in the crossfire. The New York Immigration Coalition will continue to work with NYS Governor Hochul, NYC Mayor Eric Adams, and the NYC City Council to ensure that everyone who makes their way to our city is able to transition and integrate successfully. Greg Abbott may not value the safety and well-being of newcomer immigrant families, but New York always has and always will be a welcoming city for all immigrants,” Awawdeh railed before going on CNN and making it abundantly clear the exact opposite is true.

Both Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) stirred the progressive pot when they announced they would send busloads of illegal immigrants to the East Coast as the border crisis exploded in much smaller border towns. Since then, the left has increasingly become unhinged over their actions.

“Republicans have been sounding the alarm on the Biden Border Crisis for over a year, yet hypocrites like NYC Mayor Eric Adams ignored the problem and criticized Governor Abbott for taking measures to protect Texans. Ironically, now Mayor Adams is complaining about the influx of illegal immigrants in his city when in the past he was so quick to declare New York City as a sanctuary city,” claimed RNC spokeswoman Macarena Martinez in a statement.

Adams’ outrage is especially rich because he engaged in his meltdown when reportedly only two buses – each carrying approximately 40 illegal immigrants – arrived in New York City. He actually had the gall to call it “horrific.”

“This is horrific when you think about what the governor is doing,” Adams said, noting that many of the arriving families did not realize they were coming to New York City.

“We’re finding that some of the families are on the bus that wanted to go to other locations, and they were not allowed to do so,” the mayor said. “They were forced on the bus with the understanding that they were going to other locations that they wanted to go to, and when they tried to explain they were not allowed to do so.”
