Leftists howl after Rep. Boebert suggests Dem gun grab will lead to Americans eating dogs like in Venezuela

Few Republicans get under the skin of leftists like Rep. Lauren Boebert does and she had the Twitter mob howling with her comments that the Democrats’ moves toward gun confiscation will have dire consequences for Americans who will be forced to take desperate measures to survive like the impoverished citizens of  Venezuela who she said had to resort to eating pets or starve.

The Freedom Caucus member triggered critics with her remarks during an appearance on Newsmax TV with host Sebastian Gorka after the House voted to pass a ban on so-called assault weapons last month as the Democratic Party goes scorched earth in advance of a looming midterm bloodbath.

The Colorado congresswoman recalled her upbringing in a Democrat household, and that in her younger years, “I lived under failed policies, I lived in a Democrat household and I saw first hand, I experienced first hand how restrictive their policies are. There’s not a lot of liberty under Democrat rule, in fact, it left us in bread lines waiting for government cheese and I knew that was not America’s best at 11 years old.”

She stated that she began working early to take care of herself and that she now has a family and owns a restaurant with employees and vendors who depend on her for their own ability to make a living and that the Second Amendment is the “best line of defense” to keep everyone in her establishment safe and to protect herself, bringing up her 2019 confrontation with zany anti-gun Democrat Robert Francis O’Rourke who is now running to be governor of Texas.

“When Beto O’Rourke told the world the Democrat playbook ‘hell yes, we intend to take your AR-15s and your AK-47s,’ I was compelled to go to him because I saw that a disarmed populace… if the citizenry in America is disarmed then we are no longer citizens, we are subjects,” Boebert continued.

“You know here in America, we have gourmet treats for puppies,” she said. “we have these amazing groomers for dogs. In Venezuela, they eat the dogs, and it started because they don’t have firearms, they do not have a way to protect themselves, to defend themselves against a tyrannical government. ”

Leftists did not take well to Boebert’s drawing attention to the failed socialist paradise, the latest example of the disastrous consequences of countries that take the leap of faith into the abyss by accepting the false promises of ideologues, and they swarmed on Twitter.

But was Boebert right about Venezuelans having to resort to eating dogs?

According to a 2016 USA Today report; “‘People are hunting dogs and cats in the streets, and pigeons in the plazas to eat,’ Ramon Muchacho, mayor of the Caracas district of Chacao, said this month in a tweet that was reported in many newspapers.”

“Pets on the Menu as Venezuelans Starve,” is the headline of a 2017 article published by the left-leaning Daily Beast.

In 2018, the Miami Herald featured horrific video footage of a man butchering a dog for meat in a Venezuelan town.

There were also reports of starving Venezuelans stealing zoo animals to eat them while others fought over dumpster scraps as the chickens came home to roost over the once-wealthy nation’s citizens paid a very dear price for embracing socialism.

As usual, the “fact checkers” were out to lunch.
