Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has continuously captured headlines in his relentless war against all things woke, but his suspension on Thursday of 13th Circuit State Attorney Andrew Warren for his refusal to enforce the law sent shock waves through Twitter as both praise and condemnation flooded social media.
As American Wire News reported, DeSantis suspended Warren, who is backed by progressive billionaire George Soros, after Warren vowed he would not enforce state laws banning gender reassignment surgeries on minors and restrictions on abortions.
“When you flagrantly violate your oath of office, when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty,” DeSantis said during a press conference that promised to evoke a “liberal media meltdown.”
MAJOR announcement tomorrow morning from @GovRonDeSantis.
Prepare for the liberal media meltdown of the year
Everyone get some rest tonight 😉 🌚

DeSantis didn’t disappoint.
The hashtag “#DeSantisDestroysFlorida” quickly started to trend.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News, DeSantis explained his decision.
“We had the individual here from Hillsborough County say and signed letters that there are certain laws he just won’t enforce and won’t prosecute,” he said. “States attorneys that put their ideology over the rule of law are not satisfying their oath of office.”
Joining Fox News host Tucker Carlson, DeSantis discussed the “destruction” Soros-backed prosecutors have brought upon states nationwide.
“[T]hey basically take it upon themselves to determine which laws should be followed and which laws should not be followed,” he said. “And I can tell you, in Florida’s constitution, that constitution vests the veto power with the governor, not in the individual district attorney or state attorney where they can pick and choose.”

And on Twitter, the bold governor stated, “In Florida, we will not allow a prosecutor to be a law unto himself.”

DeSantis spokesperson Christina Pushaw enforced the governor’s message.
“Progressive prosecutors backed by Soros have refused to enforce laws across the country,” she tweeted. “They treat criminals with deference & victims with contempt. This dereliction of duty is why crime is surging.”
“But @GovRonDeSantis won’t stand for this,” she continued. “He just suspended the one in Florida.”

Warren also took to Twitter to slam his wildly popular boss.
“Today’s political stunt is an illegal overreach that continues a dangerous pattern by Ron DeSantis of using his office to further his own political ambition,” he claimed. “It spits in the face of the voters of Hillsborough County who have twice elected me to serve *them*, not Ron DeSantis…”

The tantrum didn’t play well to many who are thrilled to see the governor actually draining Florida’s swamp.

Dereliction of duty outweighs the voters. That’s why a President can be impeached. Your responsibility, first and foremost, is to uphold the law. Not cherry pick based on your social justice morality. You’re a clown.

It was not an illegal overreach. Executives have the power to fire prosecutors. Ask Joe Biden and then go cry more.

Florida’s Lietenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez praised DeSantis’s move.
“Our Governor has an obligation to protect the public and ensure the enforcement of the law,” she tweeted. “I applaud @GovRonDeSantis for suspending a state attorney who put politics above duty. No individual prosecutor is above the law in Florida.”

John Cardillo called the decisive action by DeSantis “glorious.”
.@GovRonDeSantis is taking Soros funded woke prosecutors head on by suspending them pending removal from office by the FL Senate.
Hillsborough County's @AndrewWarrenFL is his first example and it's glorious.
— John Cardillo (@johncardillo) August 4, 2022
And in a follow-up tweet, Cardillo urged other GOP governors to “follow DeSantis’s lead.”
.@GovRonDeSantis didn't just suspend a woke prosecutor today.
In doing so he also ensured law and order and election integrity on the western end of the I4 Corridor, one of FL's most critical electoral geographies.
Every other GOP politician must follow DeSantis's lead.

And while liberals did indeed continue to melt down…
Desantis is acting like an oppressing DICKtator…….Florida is a test case for what the MAGA cult will do is they are allowed to take over the Three Branches of Government……….and if successful their next step would be infiltrating the military and we would ALL be screwed.

…others thanked DeSantis for schooling the nation’s other governors.
“Thank you,” responded one Twitter user, “for literally teaching every other governor in this nation how to govern.”
