Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for defunding DoJ over ‘controlled fall’ of Hunter Biden, and just like that, Dems back the Blue

Time and again in recent years, we have seen the liberal mob twist words and, in some cases, straight-up lie, to craft a narrative that suits them and then use that narrative to attack an opponent. But if you want to see just how disingenuous they are willing to get, look no further than the left’s takeaway from a comment by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who called for the defunding of the Department of Justice (DOJ) amid the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.

Greene was reacting to an explosive exchange between Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and DOJ official Matthew G. Olsen, the U.S. Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division, during which Olsen refused to answer whether or not Hunter Biden is a national security threat.

“It’s not a question that would come up before me,” Olsen stated.

As BizPac Review reported, Gaetz was relentless.

“You’re the head of the national security division,” he shot back, “so it seems sort of on the nose.”

As Gaetz listed a slew of allegedly shady interactions between the first son, the “Big Guy,” and businesses tied to the Chinese Communist Party, Olsen steadfastly refused to comment, stating repeatedly, “I’m not going to talk about any potential ongoing investigation as I sit here.”

Given recent revelations from FBI whistleblowers who claim the DOJ and FBI have been actively downplaying any negative stories about Hunter Biden in order to shield President Joe Biden and his flailing administration, one would think Gaetz’s line of questioning — and Olsen’s subsequent refusal to answer him — would be of concern to all Americans, regardless of party affiliation.

We are, after all, talking about the highest law enforcement agency in the land, and if they are willing to cover up potential crimes for political gains, it is a terrifying blow to our system of justice.

So, it’s not surprising that the outspoken MTG has a few words about Olsen’s responses — or lack thereof.

“‘We don’t answer questions about an ongoing investigation,'” she quoted from the exchange.

“This is the controlled fall,” she stated on Twitter. “Claim Hunter Biden is now under investigation so that all information is sealed and the outcome is under their control.”

“What an incredible injustice to the American people!” Greene exclaimed. “Defund the DOJ!!!”

So, after carefully listening to Gaetz’s line of questioning and supporting facts and watching Olsen dance around his questions like he was Gregory Hines, and after reading the comment from Greene, what was the immediate takeaway from many on the left?

“Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls for Defunding Law Enforcement,” screamed the headline from Mediaite, which claimed: “Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) demanded on Thursday that the Department of Justice be defunded, which would spell the end of several major federal law enforcement organizations.”

Yup, quicker than you can say “spin cycle,” left-leaning media organizations and Twitter trolls alike are appalled at the notion of cutting funding to law enforcement.

 

Forget about whether or not the President of the United States is compromised because of his crack-smoking, hooker-loving son. Let’s pretend slashing the budgets of your local police department is the same as shutting down a corrupt DOJ because getting Greene in a “gotcha” is way more important than knowing if Communist China is blackmailing the leader of the free world.

Make no mistake: This disingenuous distraction is no different than Olsen, squirming before Gaetz, refusing to address the real issue at hand.

This is gaslighting.
