Biden returns from COVID isolation, can’t resist taking petty jab at Trump

A seemingly fit as a fiddle President Joe Biden emerged from COVID isolation on Wednesday after being given a clean bill of health from his medical team and, in his first public appearance since last week when he tested positive for the virus, he just couldn’t resist taking a dirty jab at his predecessor, former President Donald J. Trump.

Striking a cool pose in his trademark sunglasses in the White House Rose Garden, Biden who loves to portray himself as a tough guy mocked Trump who also came down with the virus, suggesting that he is more rugged in composition than the ex-POTUS who had to be flown to the hospital in October 2020 when he was diagnosed with COVID.

“When my predecessor got COVID, he had to get helicopter to Walter Reed Medical Center,” he said. “He was severely ill. Thankfully he recovered.”

“When I got COVID, I worked from upstairs of the White House and the offices upstairs for that five-day period,” added Biden who once boasted that he would challenge Trump to push-up contest during his presidential campaign.

Biden’s return to action came after he tweeted out an image of a negative COVID test and thanked his doctor.

After his shot at Trump, Biden immediately began hustling the vaccines, likely a preview of coming attractions with the media and the likes of Dr. Anthony Fauci already laying the groundwork for another wave of COVID hysteria and officials in Democrat-controlled cities beginning to reimpose mask mandates and other restrictions.

“The difference is vaccinations of course, but also three new tools free to all and widely available,” Biden said.” You don’t need to be president to get these tools to use for your defense. In fact, the same booster shots, the same at-home test, the same treatment that I got is available to you.”

“My administration has made sure that all Americans cross the country from all walks of life have free access to those tools,” added Biden. “COVID was killing thousands of Americans a day when I got here. That isn’t the case anymore. You can live without fear by doing what I did, get boosted, get tested, and get treatment. At the same time, my administration remains vigilant. Right now we have the tools that keep you from getting severely ill or dying from COVID.”

Twitter reacted to Biden’s return from his brief COVID hiatus as well as his cheap shot at Trump.

While Biden may be an imperfect salesman for the jabs given his bald-faced lie from last year about anyone who rolled up their sleeve and took one in the arm for the team, all signs indicate that a major push is coming and coming soon with a distraction desperately needed to get voters’ minds off of the one-two punch of the worst inflation in four decades and gas prices that, while subsiding a bit in recent weeks, are nearly double what they were when Biden took office.

Biden’s sniping at Trump is just another example of how the former and perhaps future president is living in the heads of his adversaries who are gripped with a bone-chilling fear that he’s coming back to take care of unfinished business.
