Dave Chappelle shows up as surprise opener at Chris Rock-Kevin Hart MSG show: ‘Had to sneak my way in here’

Comedian Dave Chappelle opened unexpectedly for Chris Rock and Kevin Hart at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night where the trio ripped on “cancel culture” and multiple recent physical altercations endured by the funny men.

“Had to sneak my way in here,” Chappelle said with a cigarette between his fingers after he made his unannounced entrance on stage according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In May, the 48-year-old comedian was attacked at a Hollywood Bowl performance where fellow comedian Jamie Foxx leaped to his rescue wearing a cowboy hat, and just last week a Minneapolis theater canceled his show just hours before it was scheduled to begin after there were threats of violence from a radical leftist group due to his recent jokes about transgender ideology.

“Despite what you may have read about in the news, I’m okay, and I appreciate the support,” he added, wearing a Nirvana T-shirt.

Chappelle joked about his attacker in the incident that was captured on video at the Hollywood Bowl, wishing him a not-so-pleasant fate behind bars.

“Not that he should die, but his ass should itch for four to six weeks,” Chappelle said, hoping the knife-wielding man would get Monkey Pox.

He also gave a shout-out in his 22-minute opening set to a friend who was the first to call after the attack.

“Louis, even if you get in trouble in the streets, you are my friend,” Chappelle said.

Having all three comedians on stage at the same time was an event to be remembered as Hart plastered on social media.

“Last night was by far the best moment of my career….I can’t even explain it…I can’t find the words…,” Hart proclaimed on Instagram accompanied by photos of the memorable night. “Just know that last night was the true definition of a ‘EPIC NIGHT’ …..I love my brothers more than words can explain.”

He added, “What we did to the Garden will never be done again….We made history last night!!!!!!!! #ComedicRockStarShit #RockHartChappelle.”

The comedians also touched on the recent incident where actor Will Smith slapped Rock across the face at the Oscars.

Rock recalled his face slap, saying, “Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face,” as the audience erupted in laughter.

In a prior performance, Rock claimed that he was “smacked by the softest n****r that ever rapped.”

At the end of the night, the three comics came together for a few final jabs and discussion on which one of the three was the G.OA.T. or Greatest Of All Time.

Hart decisively ended the debate by trotting a live goat dripping in gold chains on stage.

“I’m not taking care of that s**t!” Hart protested.

“This is the worst night of this goat’s life,” Chappelle responded.

“He’s just happy he’s not at a Jamaican restaurant!” Rock quipped before the goat had a whoopsie on stage.

“How’s your first night in show business?” Chappelle asked as he leaned in with the microphone pointed at the goat.

Hearing nothing he asked, “what are we gonna call him?”

“Will Smith!” Hart said decisively.
