RINO Nancy Mace goes full AOC and tapes a virtue-signaling message to her jacket

In a virtue-signaling gesture to support a virtue-signaling House bill, RINO Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) ripped off Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (who ripped off former First Lady Melania Trump) and taped a message to her blazer urging people to “protect” something that absolutely no one was threatening in the first place: Access to contraception.

“My state is banning exceptions,” she scrawled onto what appears to be masking tape. “Protect contraception.”

She then slapped it on her back on Thursday and waited for Twitter to do its thing before joining eight fellow RINOS and every single Democrat in favoring the Right to Contraception Act, which ultimately passed in a 228-195 vote.

The bill was ostensibly a needed measure following the concurring opinion by Justice Clarence Thomas in the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and return the power to legislate those things not specifically mentioned in the Constitution to the states, as the Constitution directs.

As BizPac Review previously reported, Justice Thomas stated in a concurring opinion on Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization that, given the debunking of the so-called “Due Process Clause” that led to the Court’s reversal, “in future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents.”

Those precedents include cases that guaranteed access to contraception and allowed both same-sex sex and same-sex marriage.

“Because any substantive due process decision is ‘demonstrably erroneous’… we have a duty to ‘correct the error’ established in those precedents,” Thomas wrote.

The Court stressed in its decision — and Thomas reiterated it in his opinion — that the ruling in Dobbs should not “cast doubt” on any precedents “that do not concern abortion.”

It is also important to again stress that the SCOTUS decision did not outlaw abortion — it only left the decision up to the states. The same would be true should the Supreme Court at some point in the future choose to hear a case that calls into the constitutionality of federally-protected birth control, marriages, or sexual partners, because, again, rights not expressly named in the Constitution are up to the states to legislate.

And because exactly no one has even suggested that a case challenging access to birth control or the right to marry who you want should be brought before the Court, none of those things were even close to being threatened.

Dems know this. Even RINOs know this.

But that didn’t stop the left and special Republicans like Mace from pretending that, should Congress fail to ignore the Constitution, militant evangelical members of the GOP are going to rip condoms from the wallets of adolescent boys and physically remove Chasten Buttigieg from the Secretary of Transportation’s bed.

Thankfully, plenty of photographers were on hand to capture Mace’s brave message so she could retweet each and every one of their pictures of her.

Those actual Republicans who voted against this attempt to circumvent the Constitution and the third branch of the United State’s government saw the measure for what it was: theater.

“I support contraception,” tweeted Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) ahead of the vote. “I’ll be voting NO on the ‘contraception bill’ today.”

“Contraception likely needs protection FROM congress more than it needs protection BY congress,” he said. “If there is any entity you don’t want involved in your contraception choices — it’s the federal gov.”

“I’m also voting NO on another pointless Democrat fear mongering bill,” said the ever-sassy Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).

“Just like gay marriage, no one is trying to take away contraceptives, and Dems are creating a fake W,” she stated. “These bills are shiny objects to rile up voters bc Dems are purposely destroying our country.”
