Elisjsha Dicken took only 15 seconds to neutralize the gunman at an Indiana mall after the killer exited the bathroom where he began shooting into a food court, killing three innocent people.
It was previously reported that it took him two minutes to take the guy out but that was evidently incorrect. The 22-year-old hero returned fire and fatally struck Jonathan Sapirman, killing him and saving untold lives in the process.
Dicken was legally armed while at the Greenwood Park Mall. He was shopping with his girlfriend at the time and didn’t hesitate in the least when the gunman opened fire, according to CNN.
Greenwood Police Chief James Ison originally said the good Samaritan opened fire after two minutes but the police have since clarified that it was only 15 seconds.
A good guy with a gun took out the mass shooter in the Indiana mall in 15 seconds. 15 seconds! How many lives did this 22 year old save? Incredible. Yet the story has been almost completely ignored by the usual mainstream media suspects. pic.twitter.com/OHAnJo3tuf

“This error was simply a result of misreading notes during the [press] conference,” Ison claimed on Tuesday. “I feel the need to correct this immediately.”
The three people killed were a husband and wife from Indianapolis, Pedro Pineda, 56, and Rosa Mirian Rivera de Pineda, 37. Victor Gomez, 30, also perished in the shooting. The shooter also wounded a 12-year-old girl.
As Sapirman emerged from the bathroom using a rifle to shoot at people in the food court, Dicken fired ten rounds from a handgun at him from a distance according to police.
“I will say his actions were nothing short of heroic,” Ison commented. “He engaged the gunman from quite a distance with a handgun, was very proficient in that, very tactically sound, and as he moved to close in on the suspect, he was also motioning for people to exit behind him. To our knowledge, he has no police training and no military background.”
“Many more people would have died,” the police chief said, “if not for a responsible armed citizen that took action very quickly.”

The shooter reportedly tried to retreat into the bathroom to take cover but was hit by Dicken’s gunfire and fell to the floor where he died from his wounds.
“The surveillance video shows Sapirman exit the restroom at 5:56:48 p.m.,” Ison noted. “He was neutralized by Dicken at 5:57:03 p.m.”
The shooter reportedly had more than one gun with him and several magazines as well as over 100 rounds of ammunition.
Following the shooting, Dicken “approached mall security and told them that he was the one that neutralized the shooter,” and then he waited for police to arrive, Ison reported according to CNN.
Police took Dicken to the station, where detectives interviewed him. His statements matched video evidence from the scene, the chief said.

“He’s a young man processing a lot,” Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers stated. “I ask that you give him space and time to be able to process what he’s gone through.”
“This young man, Greenwood’s Good Samaritan, acted within seconds, stopping the shooter and saving countless lives,” Myers proudly noted. “Our city, our community, and our state is grateful for his heroism in this situation.”
Dicken is not speaking publically yet. His attorney said on Monday that his client wouldn’t comment until the police had completed their investigation.
“He is requesting you give him time to process and grieve,” Ison told the press.
“Because we want to respect the ongoing criminal investigation by the Greenwood Police Department and take time to honor the three innocent lives lost, we won’t be making any substantive comments on Sunday’s events until after the authorities’ investigation is closed,” attorney Guy Relford remarked in a statement.
Relford is also a firearms instructor. His practice focuses on Second Amendment issues.
“He is a true American hero who saved countless lives during a horrific event that could have been so much worse if not for Eli’s courage, preparedness, and willingness to protect others,” Relford stated, praising his client.
Despite the heroics of Dicken and the fact that concealed carry saved many lives, leftists are decrying it and even calling him a “vigilante.”
