Ricky Martin to appear in court, denies nephew’s shocking charges of incest that carry up to 50 yrs in prison

Entertainer Ricky Martin is expected to appear in a Puerto Rico court Thursday in response to “incest charges” that could result in up to five decades in prison for the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer.

The 50-year-old performer has been married to his husband Jwan Yosef since 2017 but was said to be having an extramarital affair until two months ago. The seven-month affair led to allegations of domestic violence and a temporary restraining order against Martin from the anonymous victim whom the Spanish news site Marca reported was none other than the singer’s nephew, 21-year-old Dennis Yadiel Sanchez.

The outlet claimed that Martin’s own brother, Eric Martin, had confirmed Sanchez to be the victim, but the entertainer denied any wrongdoing on social media.

“The protection order entered against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond through the judicial process with the facts and the dignity that characterize me,” his statement began.

“Because it is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot make detailed statements at this time,” Martin continued. “I am grateful for the countless messages of solidarity, and I receive them will all my heart.”

Puerto Rico newspaper El Vocero explained that Judge Raiza Cajigas Campbell issued the protection order against Martin after anonymous charges were filed under Law 54, which is known as the Domestic Abuse Prevention and Intervention Act. The official documents contended that Martin would not accept the separation that resulted from alleged “physical and psychological attacks” and that he was seen “prowling [the victim’s] residence on at least 3 occasions.”

The restraining order required Martin to “refrain from approaching, disturbing, intimidating, threatening, or otherwise interfering with” the victim and to “refrain from making telephone calls and sending text or voice messages to the personal, work, family and friend telephones numbers” of the victim as well.

A statement from the performer’s attorney Marty Singer expressed, “Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.”

This may be a denial on a technicality from the lawyer as, according to Fox News, Sanchez is the son of Martin’s stepsister. He went on to say, “The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”

This is not the only legal woe confronting the performer as he is also facing a $3 million lawsuit from his former manager Rebecca Drucker over unpaid commissions that may also confirm a history of untoward behavior from Martin. Drucker asserted in the suit that she had protected her client from “a potentially career-ending allegation in September 2020.”

However, Martin’s associates have remained confident that he is innocent as a representative told the New York Post, “The allegations against Ricky Martin that led to a protection order are completely false and fabricated. We are very confident that when the true facts come out in this matter our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated.”

The restraining order expires July 21 when Martin is scheduled to appear before Judge Campbell.
