‘Of course it’s true!’ Libs glom on to anonymous CNN ‘source’ corroborating Hutchinson’s wild testimony

Despite the fact that two Secret Service agents and a former Trump-era White House aide have all stated they are willing to testify that the sensational stand-off between then-President Donald Trump and his driver, as told to the Jan. 6 committee by Mark Meadows’ former top aide, Cassidy Hutchinson, never actually happened, CNN has found an anonymous source that claims a D.C. cop has corroborated to the Jan. 6 committee Hutchinson’s testimony.

To be clear, this is a CNN report claiming that an anonymous Metropolitan Police Department officer has told the Jan. 6 committee that he was in the motorcade with Trump’s Secret Service and that the totally debunked account from Hutchinson of an “enraged” Trump lunging for the wheel and demanding to be taken to the Capitol was spot-on correct.

And that CNN super-exclusive intel came from yet another anonymous source.

As previously reported by American Wire News, Hutchinson testified that another White House aide, Tony Ornato, had told her that Trump had essentially attacked lead agent Robert Engel and the driver, who is still unnamed.

“Tony described him as being ‘irate.'” Hutchinson recalled. “The president said something to the effect of ‘I’m the f**king president, take me up to the Capitol now,’ to which Bobby [Robert Engel] responded, ‘Sir, we have to go back to the West Wing.'”

“The President reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel,” Hutchinson continued. “Mr. Engel grabbed his arm, said, ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel, we’re going back to the West Wing, we’re not going to the Capitol.'”

“Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel, and when Mr. Ornato had recounted this story to me, he had motioned towards his clavicles,” she stated.

Ornato, Engel, and the driver quickly denied Hutchinson’s claims.

So, again, for clarity’s sake, CNN is reporting that the second-hand testimony of a woman few people outside the handpicked committee members and, well, CNN, actually believed is obviously legit because someone said someone else told the blatantly biased Jan. 6 “investigators” it was true.

By CNN’s own admission, “A spokesperson for the committee declined to comment.”

Also, “A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police Department did not immediately respond to comment.”

On the upside, CNN did say that the committee is “also engaging with the driver who was in the limousine regarding possible testimony.”

Unfortunately, it was that really well-connected nameless source who told the outlet that, and the driver’s lawyer also ghosted CNN, so that can’t be verified either.

But that doesn’t seem to matter to libs online, who are clearly deeply trusting of CNN’s anonymous pals.

“Of course it’s true!” wrote one Twitter user.

Luckily, some users are a bit more skeptical.

“Wow that’s some pretty in-depth reporting CNN,” tweeted another user. “Allow me to summarize the article for you: somebody said it’s true.”

Yup… That sums it up nicely.
