Halifax, which is a woke bank in the United Kindom, is displaying pronouns on badges and has bluntly told its customers on social media that if they don’t like it, they can close their accounts and go elsewhere.
The bank has gone all out for Pride Month this year, sharing photos of employees with various sexual identity flags and testimonies of LGBT employees. Part of that promo campaign involved proudly displaying a photo of nametags that are available to Halifax employees that boast the wearer’s preferred pronouns.
The blatant virtue signaling was mocked on social media and at that point, Halifax basically told millions of its customers to get stuffed and close their accounts if they didn’t like it.
“We strive for inclusion, equality and quite simply, in doing what’s right. If you disagree with our values, you’re welcome to close your account,” a social media Halifax spokesperson that goes by the name “Andy” stated.

We care about our customers and colleagues individual preferences. For us it’s a very simple solution to accidental misgendering. We want to create a safe & accepting environment around gender identity. If you disagree with our values, you’re welcome to close your account. ^AndyM

Other spokespeople for the bank were less harsh but nevertheless doubled down on its woke values that led to the pronoun nametags.
“We want to create a safe and accepting environment that opens the conversation around gender identity,” one post explained. “We care about our customers and colleagues individual preferences. For us, it’s a very simple solution to accidental misgendering.”
Hi, I'm Lee. We want to create a safe and accepting environment that opens the conversation around gender identity. We care about our customers and colleagues individual preferences. For us, it’s a very simple solution to accidental misgendering.

Halifax informed its customers that the new and improved pronoun badges were optional and were not mandated by the company.
“Adding pronouns is completely optional. We’re offering our colleagues the choice because we understand how important it is to create a safe and accepting environment that normalises the conversation around gender identity,” the bank wrote according to Fox Business.
According to the Daily Mail, the PR disaster is spreading and there is a mass exodus underway of customers fleeing the bank. They reportedly branded the business “old-fashioned bullies.”
One account holder told the Daily Mail that he and his family had already pulled out their investments and savings worth £450,000 while many more are following suit after the bank was accused of “alienating” them with “pathetic virtue signaling.”
The media outlet is also reporting that another individual canceled his Halifax credit cards online and told customer service, “Pronouns matter when used properly, I will not be told by a bank what I can and can’t.” Another former customer allegedly said, “I care because they paid someone to come up with this rubbish but they keep closing branches.”
Please people. Do what the .@Halifax dares you to. Close your account if you don’t believe in this non scientific wokery.
Money talks. Take yours away if you object and see how long this lasts. It is time to fight this, for the mental health of our children. pic.twitter.com/cjSOLyi0E8

Branding expert Martin Townsend pointed out that Halifax’s policy is what he calls a “Ratner moment” and an “astonishing” mistake that will be considered one of the biggest PR blunders in recent history.
“It’s a Ratner moment I would say. It’s astonishing that they do something to make themselves look right on and virtue signaling – and they end up looking like the most old-fashioned bullies, telling them: ‘If you don’t like it you’re welcome to leave.’ It’s extraordinary. Who treats their customers like that? I’ve never heard of a company inviting their customers to go. How is that inclusive?” he commented.
Townsend is apparently referring to British businessman Gerald Ratner, whose jewelry business nearly collapsed in 1991 after he jokingly denigrated the company’s products in an epic PR blunder.
Natwest, Nationwide, and HSBC all have optional pronoun policies for their badges as well. HSBC shared the Halifax post, tweeting to its 101,000 followers, “We stand with and support any bank or organisation that joins us in taking this positive step forward for equality and inclusion. It’s vital that everyone can be themselves in the workplace.”

You won’t open a maiden-name account for my wife as you say it’s not her real identity, despite seeing the relevant legal documentation.
But if I want you to refer to me as if I’m a woman, despite all physical and documentary evidence to the contrary, you will to be ‘inclusive’— Awoken (@Londoner1956) June 28, 2022
Account will be closed. I’m fed up of this shit.

No, they do not. Politeness, efficiency and courtesy matter when you’re working in a bank. I don’t need to know about the sexuality of people I don’t know.

Is there a direct EMail address for the head of the bank so we can let him know why we are closing our accounts at this bank?
Need to bypass the woke media team and communicate directly with someone at the top.— JMB (@Lundavra) June 29, 2022
