The village of Bolingbrook is a southwest suburb of Chicago, which is approximately 30 miles from the city center.
WeatherTech is a popular manufacturer of auto accessories specializing in floor mats for vehicles.
Following the overturning of Roe vs. Wade on Friday, the nation is on edge and every shooting is suspect. Except that in Chicago it’s a regular occurrence and state politicians are speaking out about it.
New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann appeared on “Fox & Friends First” Friday to blast the state’s SAFE-T act, declaring it “anything but safe” as the state continues to see skyrocketing crime spilling over from Chicago into surrounding communities.
Pritzker’s SAFE-T Act is no safety act at all.
It's stuffed with anti-law enforcement rhetoric. Pritzker handcuffed police departments and will eliminate cash bail by January 1.

“I represent Republicans and Democrats alike. This is not a partisan issue. This violence is happening to everybody,” Baldermann told host Joey Jones, referencing a recent carjacking that involved suspects from the Chicago area.
The suspects were believed to be from Cook County, according to Fox Chicago. They were evading police in a stolen vehicle on I-80. The six men ditched the car and then fled on foot, running into a New Lenox neighborhood on March 10.
“This vehicular hijacking that we’re talking about, two young women that both had two children in their cars under the age of five had guns pointed at them. Three of the people that we’ve charged now are all in their twenties. And between the three of them, they have 27 convictions out of Cook County for violent crimes, yet they’re still roaming the streets,” he pointed out.
Baldermann warned that authorities need to start addressing the root causes of crime, asserting that the criminal justice system is failing at the state, city, and county levels due to policies such as “no-cash bail” that are allowing offenders to be released back onto the streets.

The mayor is a former police officer. He also addressed how gun control is not a solution as the city of Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in existence but still has the highest levels of crime. He’s placing the blame on State’s Attorney for Cook County, Illinois, Kim Foxx.
“As a 22-year veteran of a police department, I can tell you the criminals are always going to get their hands on guns. They really don’t care about gun laws. Why would they? And so that is a major problem for us here. And it’s not working,” he continued.
“Over the last five years, almost exclusively every violent crime has been committed by someone with an extensive history in the Cook County criminal justice system,” Baldermann stated, according to Fox Chicago.
