Gov. Whitmer’s remark about ‘menstruating people’ draws strong response: ‘Has the Left gone insane?’

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s remarks describing women as “menstruating people” has drawn a strong response, particularly from GOP gubernatorial hopefuls seeking to dislodge the authoritarian Democrat from power in this fall’s critical election.

The Wolverine State lockdown queen made her remarks during a Michigan Democratic Party Zoom event when she was asked about what she would do to protect the right to abortions if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, which many are expecting after a leaked draft opinion by conservative Justice Samuel Alito was published by Politico last month.

“What should we expect — this is a scary one —what should we expect if the reproductive freedom proposal fails?” Erica Peresman, the party’s voter protection director asked. “Are you able to protect reproductive rights without that proposal passing if Roe v. Wade fails? What can voters do to help preserve our freedom of choice?”

“So we saw where we thought Dobbs was going to be headed, and this was prior to the draft opinion coming out publicly,” Whitmer answered. “So we looked at all the tools that I have as governor and determined a couple of unique things I can do.”

“Number one: I have the constitutional ability to bring a lawsuit to protect constitutional rights of people of Michigan. So I brought a lawsuit on behalf of all the menstruating people in Michigan — 2.2 million. And another tool I have is to go straight to our state Supreme Court,” she said.

Whitmer’s use of the bizarre term was also used by socialist diva Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who drew criticism after she referred to a woman as a “menstruating person” during an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper last year.

Michigan Republicans responded to the ridiculous comment by Whitmer.

“Has the left gone insane? I mean really. Menstruating people? Drag queens in every school? This is not normal behavior,” Taylor Dixon, a conservative businesswoman running for governor told Fox News Digital.

“Someone needs to check the Democratic Party. It’s starting to seem like COVID was more like mad cow disease,” she added, likely referring to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel who recently called for “a drag queen for every school.”

“Governor Whitmer and her entire administration have shown they are on the extreme, fringe Left when it comes to every issue,” a spokesperson for GOP gubernatorial candidate Kevin Rinke told the outlet. “Between the AG calling for a drag queen in every classroom to the governor making up her own anatomy course, this administration has lost sight of the fact that Michiganders are suffering under their failed leadership.”

Pastor Ralph Rebandt who is also running for governor told Fox News Digital, “Our Declaration of Independence addresses ‘the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God.’ Governor Whitmer’s use of politically correct LGBTQ+ language is evidence of a moral collapse in our society,”

“A culture that rejects ‘Nature’s God,’ as we did sixty years ago, will eventually reject the ‘Laws of Nature.’ When that happens, God help us, because there’s no line that can’t be crossed,” he said.

Whitmer, whose COVID restrictions were among the most extreme in the nation will face the wrath of voters whose lives were wrecked by her lust to wield power in a dictatorial fashion in a year when the backlash against the left’s defense of transgender strippers and groomers will also be a factor at the ballot box.
