Unrepentant Jan. 6 defendant who brought gun with him asserts he’d ‘be here for another reason’ if he found Pelosi

A Jan. 6 defendant admitted that he used a baton on officers and brought a loaded gun to the Capitol during the 2021 protest, proclaiming that if he had found Nancy Pelosi, he’d “be here for another reason.”

Mark Mazza, 57, who is from Indiana, pleaded guilty to multiple federal charges. He originally denied any wrongdoing that day but was reportedly caught on video showing him swinging a stolen baton at officers. Another video clip allegedly shows Mazza holding open a door so other protesters could enter the Capitol building, while shouting, “We own this house!”

Mazza “showed no remorse” according to CNN host Jake Tapper who spoke about the protester at the beginning of his show on Friday, adding that his case “does not sound like the peaceful protests, the tourists that some GOP lawmakers insist actually were there on January 6th.”

Mazza’s signed statement from May recounts the agreed-upon facts of his case with federal authorities, according to Law & Crime.

“When one MPD officer was using his metal collapsible baton to push back the rioters, Mazza took control of the baton from the officer’s hand,” the statement of offense charges. “Mazza then armed himself with the baton and swung the baton overhead and downward to strike at the officers in the tunnel entrance. Mazza’s baton struck MPD Officer P.N. in the arm. After striking at the officers with the baton, Mazza yelled at the officers, ‘This is our f***ing house! We own this house! We want our house! Get out of the citizen of the United States’ way!’”

Mazza evidently cut a plea deal with the feds over his part in the protest on Jan. 6. He admitted that he wore a holster under his shirt carrying a Taurus revolver that was reportedly loaded with hollow-point bullets while attending the “Stop the Steal” rally at the Ellipse and then later on at the Capitol, but lost the weapon at some point before he grappled with the police in the Lower West Terrace tunnel.

Rioters allegedly chanted “Nancy! Nancy!” as they stormed the Capitol and swarmed the Speaker of the House’s offices inside. An unrepentant Mazza told authorities he wished he could have found Pelosi, reportedly admitting he would “be here for another reason” if he had actually found her.

Once inside the tunnel that day, Mazza reportedly blocked police officers as “other rioters used flag poles, batons, sticks, and stolen law enforcement shields as weapons to strike at, hit, and try to force their way through” the police line, according to the plea agreement. That’s when he stole a police officer’s baton and then allegedly used it against the officers guarding the tunnel entrance.

The plea agreement contends that after Mazza was forced out of the tunnel by officers, he “took steps to assist” Capitol Police Officer Michael Fanone, who was allegedly dragged into the crowd and beaten. Mazza “was in close physical proximity to (Fanone) and took steps to assist the officer from being further assaulted by members of the riot,” the agreement states.

Mazza left Capitol grounds only after police deployed flash-bang grenades later that day, the agreement contends.

CNN is reporting that Mazza was apprehended after he filed a false police report claiming the baton was stolen from his car.

“Federal investigators found Mazza after he falsely reported the weapon he brought to the riot was stolen on January 8, 2021, claiming it was taken from his car at an Ohio casino. He later told investigators he fabricated the claim because he feared members of Antifa might find the gun and his name was ‘all over it,” CNN stated.

Mazza pleaded guilty in the District of Columbia to assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers with a dangerous weapon and carrying a pistol without a license. He faces a statutory maximum of 20 years in prison for charges against the officers and up to five years in prison for the firearms charge.

  1. He’ll get 6 months’ probation for giving the Fed what they think it is that they need so as to “clearly demonstrate” to any and all what was “REALLY” going on. Does anyone in their right mind think for a MOMENT that someone who’s merely wearing a holster would confess to not only carrying a firearm (which was never retrieved) but also inform Johnny Law that it was loaded with hollow point bullets intended for a U.S. Senator? Really? I’d say, “You can’t make this stuff up” but someone has not only done exactly that; they’ve managed to get it into the news cycle too.

  2. Let’s see. We have the 2nd Amendment, the Right to Bear Arms. So why does this man have to plead guilty? Should he not be protected by the Constitution. Oh, wait. That was when we had a gubment responsible to the citizens and not Peloser, Schitt, Nadler, AOC. The list is 534 names long (sans Rand Paul).

  3. So Andrew, what do you tell your 5 year old son or daughter about the older sibling they will never know because you had him/her murdered? Really you are a sick SOB.

  4. I think he is aplant by Pelosi. He won’t get any jail time and charges will mysteriously disappear

  6. This man is effectively giving his life for his Country. That’s how serious it is. Pelosi has been weilding her Office as a weapon for far too long. Pray that we get good men in office that will impeach these radicals.

  7. How was Mazza’s action different from ALL BLM members protest/rioters all summer long before J6. Didn’t Kamahoe Harris even bailed them out of jail?
    Two tiered justice system much?

  8. Someone needs to tell Jakey Crapper that this Maza guy acted just like the thousands of “peaceful protesters” during the BLM and Antifa riots. Rhey all got no time at all. FJB

  9. I will post just what I posted a while ago. If the Truth be known, Piglosi and Shumer is behind all of this as well. It will come out if they aren’t Executed first.

A Colbert ‘Insurrection?’ Numerous ‘Late Show’ Staffers Arrested for Incursion at US Capitol.June 18, 2022 at 8:37am…The Democrats remain aghast at the fact that a crazy man with a painted face, wearing a furry hat with horns, breached the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. They have no problem with letting Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog, trespass inside the building, however.
According to a Fox News report Friday, seven employees with Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” on CBS were arrested for unlawful entry inside the Capitol Building on Thursday after reportedly being cleared by staffers for two top Democrats, including House Jan. 6 committee member Rep. Adam Schiff of California.

  10. Though I understand Mazza`s intense dislike of Pelousy, the rule of law must be used to deal with her. When the repubs regain the House and the Senate, it will be impeachment time for her, and, for all of the leading dem traitors.

    1. Sorry but the rule of law doesn’t apply to Democrats. There’s only one way justice can be served.

  11. Mazza was reported to have swung and struck a policeman in the dark tunnel entrance. 😆 That would have been a major barn yard goose and a mountain ram working together to bring about an inevitable end to the means. I wonder if the D.C. cop enjoyed it?

  12. NOBODY CARES!
While Americans are suffering from higher gas prices, inflation, and paychecks getting smaller,
Our government spending their time on the insurrection drama. Meanwhile, our country is going down the tubes.

My health insurance bill is up to $650/month. My gas is up to $6 a gallon, grocery bill up big, my rent is $3000/month, only things cheap still is car insurance (25/month from Insurance Panda), electric bill ($22 from Solar Melon), and my gym ($15/month from Planet Fitness), but I’m sure those’ll go up soon too.

Did I mention it costs $100 to fill up my CRV now?? No one actually cares about these hearings with a multitude of other issues rotting the country and putting livelihoods at stake.

    1. Well gosh, Congress has to at least put up a front to look busy with the peoples business. What did you expect out of them. Did you think they were going to admit that they are handling Americans like they were in Kindergarden? Or did you expect them to admit to their distractions and lies? Were talking about Dems here and leopards cannot change their spots and no matter what you dress a weasil up in, its still a weasil.

      1. Speaking of weasels, fauxi comes to mind. And I will never forget when he blew throwing out the first pitch at the Nationals game.
