Biden once again shows contempt for Trump, nixes design for Air Force One for laughable reason

In yet another petty move that not only looks like a slap at former President Donald Trump but smacks of being unAmerican as well, President Joe Biden has scrapped the new red, white, and blue design for Air Force One.

The unpatriotic move by the Biden administration comes after an Air Force review suggested it would need to raise costs and delay the delivery of the new jets.

Boeing is in the midst of modifying two Boeing 747-800 aircraft that will display the Air Force One callsign when the president is on board to replace the existing fleet of two aging Boeing 747-200 aircraft.

In 2018, Trump ordered that the new jumbo jets ditch the Kennedy-era robin’s egg blue and white design for a deeper navy and a streak of dark red reflecting the nation’s colors.

The reason for the cancelation is lame at best. The Biden administration, which evidently has an aversion to cutting costs on just about anything, claimed via an anonymous source that the proposed color change could add engineering, time, and costs to the delivery of the planes, according to Politico.

The Air Force study reportedly concluded that the dark shade of blue Trump proposed for the plane’s underbelly and engines would have created heating issues for the aircraft, requiring costly redesigns and additional delays to the already behind-schedule program.

The new paint decision is good news for Boeing. The company would have had to pay to fix the heating problem itself. Boeing has referred questions on the paint job to the Air Force.

Trump was enthusiastic about the new color scheme proposed for the aircraft when he was president. He kept a mockup of the new design on a coffee table in the Oval Office.

“The baby blue doesn’t fit with us,” he told Fox News in 2019. Trump had already mocked up sketches of his ideal redesign for the plane’s exterior.

The design revolved around the colors of the American flag. The top half of the plane would be white, while the lower half would be dark blue. A red stripe would span the entire plane, from the cockpit to the tail.

In 2018, the Air Force awarded Boeing a contract worth $3.9 billion to manufacture two 747s to replace the current Air Force One aircraft. Trump tweeted in February 2017 that the government had decreased the price of the contract with Boeing by “over $1 billion.”

The building of the planes is facing delays ostensibly caused by supply chain issues and a disagreement between Boeing and a subcontractor as well as a shortage of qualified mechanics, according to the Government Accountability Office.

The Biden administration has not put forth a new design for the planes yet. They are in San Antonio undergoing extensive modifications to prepare them to carry the president.

Formally known as the VC-25B, the new aircraft are estimated to replace the older VC-25A planes in 2026, which is years behind schedule.

  1. Unless the plane with Trump’s color scheme flies upside down, it won’t absorb any heat. In fact, the white top would reflect more heat than the baby blue top currently being used.

    Trump is right again!

He has to know that President Trump has more brains than his whole family put together, plus Trump has billions and came by it honestly, with hard work. Has a beautiful family who aren’t drug addicts or crooks and rapists? It must burn their tush to not find, after 8 years of investigating, not even an unpaid traffic ticket, all the time knowing that they would never be able to pass that annal exam. Besides he just wants us to all remember all the stuff he Fkd up in less than 2 years. Can you imagine what it has been like for Biden to wait all of these years and then have to steel an election in order to do to us what he has wanted to do for over 50 years, stick it up our rectal cavity, gotta be depressing.

  6. Create to much Heat? How so? paint is on the outside under constant exposure to 200 MPH 10 below zero wind. Can someone please explain this to me? I did really well in the sciences in High School and College, just curious what the paint differences make on the thermodynamic here..

    1. The issue would be when the aircraft is on the tarmac in DC or other insanely hot places. Bit the top of the plane is white so it is a NON issue because that is where the sun USUALLY shines. But in Biden’s upside-down world it could be a problem

  7. A dark underbelly has no effect on radiant heat from the sun.
    On top of that, President Trump stopped the Chinese from demanding ownership of any technology that is developed in their country.
    Boeing had a factory built in China but they demanded that they will own any technology developed in their country.

    Dark blue UNDER the plane would be always in the shade & would act as a heat RADIATOR, making the plane cooler. The engines would also be cooler painted dark blue, since that would help them radiate the internal heat out of the engines, just like avblack painted home radiator.

    The administration wold have us believe that only now, after 70 years of commercial jet transport, and only the USAF has suddenly discovered this massive problem.

    I wonder if all those airlines will now sue Boeing, Airbus, McDonnell-Douglas and the rest for the billions in maintenance expenses incurred over the decades.
