Hysterical man dragged away while screaming at Ted Cruz: ’19 children died! That’s on your hands!’

An ambush confrontation with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), which has since gone viral, stood as further proof that woke activists aren’t interested in conversations, only in scoring political points and imposing their ideology on the masses.

Fulfilling his commitment and cementing his steadfast support of the Second Amendment, Cruz was in Houston, Texas on Friday to give a speech at the National Rifle Association (NRA) Convention deemed controversial by corporate media because of the tragic massacre in Uvalde, Texas Tuesday. While having a meal at a sushi restaurant, the senator was asked for a photo with Benjamin Hernandez before the activist attempted to catch Cruz off-guard with his questions on gun control.

Representing the group Indivisible Houston that claims their “mission is to build an inclusive coalition at the Houston level, to fight the rise of tyranny in America” which they consider former President Donald Trump’s administration to be a part of, Hernandez grew increasingly hostile toward Cruz until security interceded and had to drag the man away.

“19 children died! 19 children died!” Hernandez can be heard shouting. “That’s on your hands! Ted Cruz, that’s on your hands!”

The version of the video that went viral was filmed by someone at the restaurant from afar and only includes the portion of the video where the activist is removed from the dining area. Naturally, the left jumped on this as behavior that should be championed, arguing that Cruz should not be allowed peace in public, while also maligning him for allegedly dismissing the concerns of the activist.

Some even argued for considerable violence to be taken against all of the attendees at the convention, proving that the concern of the left is not with violence in and of itself, but solely with who that violence is committed against.

For his part, Cruz maintained his composure throughout the encounter and attempted to offer up a measured response despite being interrupted. “What about background checks?” Hernandez continually repeated prompting Cruz to point out, “Alright, you don’t want to listen to me.”

When given the chance to speak, the senator noted that the laws being pushed for would have been ineffectual at Robb Elementary School and that there are legitimate measures that have been called for to curb similar tragedies from occurring, “If you look at the laws Democrats [inaudible] they wouldn’t stop these mass murders.”

Hernadez persisted with his talking points, however, prompting Cruz to state, “You combined ignorance and hatred..You don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Had the activist been seeking an actual dialogue, he would have heard the senator explain his stance on school safety which, as he presented to the convention, had been blocked by Democrats.

“I don’t know of any reporter whose asked even a single Democrat why they filibustered bipartisan gun violence legislation that could’ve made a real difference saving lives,” Cruz said during his speech. He went on to detail his bill with Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) that would have increased funding for school safety, up to and including hiring veterans to protect kids if need be.

However, members of Indivisible Houston, like Hernandez, were too busy staging political hits against the senator to actually educate themselves on the issues.
