Independent journalist Ali Bradley took footage inside the home of Uvalde shooter Salvador Rolando Ramos guided by the grandfather, Rolando Reyes, who showed her where Celia Gonzalez, the grandmother, was shot in the face by her grandson after an alleged argument over a phone bill ensued.

The inside of the home was evidently spattered with blood. The bullet that hit the grandmother, 66, in the face reportedly entered through her cheek and exited just below her ear. It is a miracle she survived.

Ramos, 18, had announced on social media that he intended to shoot his grandmother before going on his killing spree that took the lives of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School.

“There’s blood all over,” the grandfather, 74, told Bradley and then pointed to an interior door frame. “There was a pool of blood here.”

Remarkably, after being shot in the face, the grandmother was able to call 911 which almost certainly saved her life. She is still in critical condition but is awake and expected to survive. She is communicating with her family by writing.

Ramos then took off in his truck and proceeded to drive to the school where he crashed into a ditch. He reportedly started shooting before he entered the school and then barricaded himself in a classroom, killing as he went with no mercy. Over an hour later, police would finally shoot and kill Ramos.

Text messages from the shooter indicated that he was triggered by an argument with his grandmother over his phone bill, according to the Daily Mail.

He had reportedly been living with his grandparents for a few months and was unemployed at the time of the massacre. He had allegedly moved out of his mother Adriana Reyes’ home due to instability in that environment involving drug addiction.

Reyes told the Daily Mail that she was “surprised” that her son went on a killing spree. She admitted that he was a loner who “kept to himself and didn’t have many friends,” but denied that she had a bad relationship with her son.

Ramos reportedly bought two AR-15 rifles a week before the attack and 350 rounds of ammunition. The killer reportedly saved up approximately $4,000 from his job at Wendy’s to get the guns, ammo, and tactical gear for his killing spree. He boasted about it online.

The grandfather told ABC News he wasn’t aware that his grandson had purchased the guns or that they were in the house. He is a convicted felon so having the guns in the home would be illegal. The grandfather said that if he had known about the guns, he would have turned his grandson in.

When the New York Post asked if Ramos had plotted the attack in advance, the grandfather replied, “I don’t know. I can’t say whether he was planning to do this or not. That’s a question that’s going to haunt me for the rest of my life.”

“I’m sorry. I’m very sorry. I am,” Reyes told reporters in Spanish according to ABC 7 Denver. “I feel a lot of pain for all of them because a lot of the kids are my friends’ grandchildren. And I’m sorry. I’m sorry to all the families.”

  1. YES you can purchase guns ONLINE, BUT you still have to go through a (FFL Licensed Dealer) “Federal Firearms License” and that dealer must run the Background check just like if you purchase a gun from a Store, the gun gets shipped to the DEALER NOT to the Buyer, and NO he cannot buy a Pistol online or anywhere if you are under 21. this reporter is SKEWING the facts so badly.

  2. People have totally lost the courage to stand up. There was another text to someone else he did not know and she was upset he tagged her to I believe pictures of his guns or him with the guns. This is when a call would not have hurt to authorites. Over the last 2 years there sure were alot of people that threatened people not wearing masks. The irony and selfishness these people actually show, people are picking the wrong battles and no good will come out of such outcomes. God speed and open these young peoples eyes to be able to distinguish between right or wrong.

    1. I doubt the police in another state would do anything if someone reported getting text messages and photos of guns from someone out of state that they didn’t even know. I would guess the police would just be busy trying to fight crime in their state. Just saying.

  3. We should be like Israel and Switzerland, armed people with trained responsibility and become a safe country like Switzerland, where armed security is not needed.

  4. He had allegedly moved out of his mother Adriana Reyes’ home due to instability in that environment involving drug addiction.

Earlier reports said it was over “a wi-fi connection” probably not working.

  5. My God the whole family has issues. No wonder the kid was a sociopath. Taking innocent lives is absolutely incomprehensible. What kind of mind can do such a thing?
    Our culture problem shining through.
