Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) has positioned himself at the frontline of the culture war and his latest take no prisoners move “has lefties crying” and may be giving former President Donald Trump a run for his money, according to Fox News host Greg Gutfeld.
During the Tuesday broadcast of his program “Gutfeld!” the host delved into the recent declaration of November 7 as Victims of Communism Day in the state of Florida. “Here’s to a history class that won’t give Marxism a pass,” he began. “It’s true DeSantis takes on the world’s worst commies and has lefties crying for their…birthing persons.”
“The President of the Republic of Florida Ron DeSantis signed a law requiring students to learn about communism,” and thus, Gutfeld surmised, “Hereafter, the only pinkos Florida tolerates are tourists who forgot to pack sunblock.”
Right on schedule, the protestations from the left commenced, including one incredibly biased caption for a VICE News article that suggests their intent to actually defend communism.

You can't say gay in Florida schools but Ron DeSantis is mandating teachers talk shit about communism.https://t.co/fSxtR5MmsG

“You can’t say gay in Florida schools but Ron DeSantis is mandating teachers talk sh*t about communism,” VICE posted to Twitter.
Despite DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw pointing out that it was unnecessary for the left to take the side of the ideology that was directly responsible for the deaths of more than 100 million people around the globe via corrupt regimes, they insisted that any stance of the governor must be bad and therefore stopped.
Libs… you don't have to endorse the crimes of communist regimes because @GovRonDeSantis signed legislation to honor the victims of communism. You really don't

“Now Florida isn’t the first state to adopt this designation,” Gutfeld went on, “but it is the first to mandate 45 minutes of school instruction on that day. That’s not that much. Students will learn about Lenin, Stalin, Castro, Mao Zedong, Jane Fonda,” he quipped and added, “Once again Bernie Sanders is left out. Students will also learn how people under those regimes endured ‘suppression of speech, poverty, starvation, migration, and systemic lethal violence.’ Sounds like Portland, OR.”
DeSantis had stated at the signing ceremony, “While it’s fashionable in some circles to whitewash the history of communism, Florida will stand for truth and remain as a beachhead for freedom.”
VICE’s Paul Blest took that personally and continued the flagrant misrepresentation of DeSantis’ accomplishments in his state, including the Parental Rights in Education law that ensures age-appropriate instruction in schools.
“Acknowledging that queer people exist and have human relationships? Bad,” Blest wrote. “Nuanced conversations about America and race in school and the workplace? Also bad. Nearly hour-long nakedly political lessons on the ‘victims of communism’? Good–and mandatory, if you’re a public school in Florida.”
World history = exactly what schools should be teaching.

What? The state is setting the curriculum for its own schools? Sound the alarm!

So egregious to talk shit about communism when it only killed 100M people in the 20th century. I mean C’MON who cares about those people when communism also oppressed & impoverished everyone who survived with their lives. So unfair to the dictators who thrived under communism.

One person made sure to note how the victims of communism would also include gay individuals, but as the left has routinely proven with China and the Uighurs, Disney and the Bahamas, and now the NBA and the UAE, their hypocrisy does not account for actual injustices.
Just wait until you find out what communist countries have done to gay people

They ain’t ready for that 😂

“Of course,” Gutfeld added before pivoting to a discussion, “DeSantis has already gone after Disney in recent weeks, positioning himself as a leader in the culture war. He really made Pluto his b*tch. All the more significant considering he only trails Trump in polls on the GOP favorite for president while Mike Pence draws less interest than a savings account.”

Seems to me that Gutfeld, Ben Shapiro and a number of other silver-tongued voices for conservatism should be in congress fixing problems instead of being on tv and the internet talking about them.
I wonder how often people close to them suggest it and would any of them consider it.
Man, that’s going to lead to some awkward conversations around some DEMOcrats’ dinner tables!’
