Confused Biden responds to Fla Sen. Rick Scott calling him ‘incapacitated and confused’

President Joe Biden hit back at Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) on Tuesday, claiming the Republican “has a problem” after being asked about Scott’s proclamation that the president is mentally incapacitated, incapable of addressing out-of-control inflation, and should resign from office.

“It’s simple. The most effective thing Joe Biden can do to solve the inflation crisis he created is resign. He’s the problem. Getting him out of office is a quick and easy solution,” Scott charged in a statement.

“Let’s be honest here. Joe Biden is unwell. He’s unfit for office. He’s incoherent, incapacitated and confused. He doesn’t know where he is half the time. He’s incapable of leading and he’s incapable of carrying out his duties. Period,” he bluntly asserted.

“Everyone knows it. No one is willing to say it. But we have to, for the sake of the country. Joe Biden can’t do the job,” the senator added.

CBS News reporter Ed O’Keefe grilled Biden on Scott’s comments after the president made a number of gaffes during his White House remarks on inflation. He attempted to attack Republicans over their “Ultra-MAGA” agenda. One of those gaffes was referring to Scott as being from Wisconsin, not Florida.

“Earlier today, anticipating your remarks, [Scott] said and I’m just quoting here, that the best thing, ‘most effective thing Joe Biden can do to solve the inflation crisis he created is resign. He’s the problem,’” O’Keefe said quoting Scott’s statement released prior to Biden’s speech.

“Resign? That’s a good idea,” Biden smirked.

“The senator added later, ‘Joe Biden is unwell, he’s unfit for office, he’s incoherent, incapacitated and confused.’ These are his words. I’m offering you a chance to respond to that,” O’Keefe continued.

“I think the man has a problem,” Biden quipped.

Scott, who did not flinch in the least when calling for Biden to resign due to his failing mental acuity, tweeted in response, “The president just said I’m from Wisconsin… @JoeBiden is so incapacitated and incoherent, he can’t even keep his states straight.”

He then tore into Biden on Fox News, stating that the president “took no responsibility” for inflation “and he has no plan.”

“We have 8.5% inflation. We’ve got the highest gas prices ever. We’ve got low labor participation. We’ve got a GDP that is declining. We’ve got mortgage rates skyrocketing. We’ve got a stock market going down,” Scott told host Harris Faulkner. “So, he doesn’t have ideas. He was confusing. He put up no ideas [for] what he was going to get done.”

Scott excoriated the president after the White House falsely claimed that Republicans will raise taxes if they win this year’s midterm elections by requiring everyone to pay at least some taxes. He also claimed that the GOP would possibly let Social Security expire by requiring all laws to be reauthorized every five years.

Even the leftist Washington Post had a problem with those assertions, rating the attack as “false” and giving Biden three “Pinocchios.”

“Scott’s tax plan is certainly ripe for political fodder, but the White House is pushing its luck here,” columnist Glenn Kessler noted. “Scott is a Republican, and he is in Congress and part of the GOP leadership. But his snippet of an idea, such as it is, cannot be labeled a ‘congressional Republican’ plan. No legislation has been crafted, and no other Republican lawmakers have announced their support.”

Nevertheless, Biden ran with the charge on Tuesday. He branded Scott and Republicans as being part of an “Ultra-MAGA” agenda.

“Sen. Rick Scott of Wisconsin [Florida], a member of the Senate Republican leadership, laid it all out in a plan, it’s the Ultra-MAGA agenda. Their plan is to raise taxes on 75 million American families,” Biden claimed.

“Who came up with this phrase ‘Ultra-MAGA’? Why the need to kick it up a notch? MAGA wasn’t enough?” ABC News reporter Mary Bruce asked White House press secretary Jen Psaki during her daily briefing.

It’s the president’s phrase,” she said, “and the president made those comments himself just last week, as you know, and I think what struck him is how extreme some of the policies and proposals are that a certain wing of the Republican Party that is taking up too much of the Republican Party are for.”

White House Director of Rapid Response Mike Gwin told Fox News Digital, “Senator Scott doesn’t have a leg to stand on to talk about prices when he continues to lead Congressional Republicans in pushing a MAGA agenda that would raise taxes on half of Americans and jeopardize retirement benefits like Social Security and Medicare.”

“Putting billionaires ahead of the middle class may make sense when Scott’s at Mar-a-Lago, but it’s bad news for working families,” he added. “Senator Scott’s plan sounds too extreme to believe, but Americans should see it for themselves on Scott’s website – RescueAmerica.com – and compare it with the president’s plan to lower costs for working families and strengthen our middle class.”
