Woke Washington state Democrats have officially passed a bill unbelievably banning the word “marijuana” from all official state law and documents because it is “pejorative and racist,” swapping it out for the term “cannabis” instead.
Progressives in the state have also initiated a taxpayer-funded task force to help increase diversity by helping minorities break into the pot business, according to the Daily Wire.
Democratic Governor Jay Inslee enthusiastically signed the leftist diktat into law in March and it will go into effect in June.
Washington State Representative Melanie Morgan (D) proclaimed, “The term ‘marijuana’ itself is pejorative and racist.” She made the comment during testimony concerning House Bill 1210, which she sponsored.
“As recreational marijuana use became more popular, it was negatively associated with Mexican immigrants,” Morgan asserted. “Even though it seems simple because it’s just one word, the reality is we’re healing the wrongs that were committed against black and brown people around cannabis.”
A bill in Washington will soon take effect striking the word "marijuana" from all state laws after progressive lawmakers deemed the term "racist." The change removes the word, swapping it out for the term "cannabis".
You couldn't make up how f**king stupid these people are.

Morgan also referred to Harry Anslinger, “the first commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (which later became the Drug Enforcement Administration) played a big role in the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937, which banned selling or possessing weed,” according to KRO 7.
“It was … Anslinger that said and I quote, ‘Marijuana is the most violent causing drug in the history of mankind. And most marijuana users are Negroes, Hispanic, Caribbean, and entertainers. Their satanic music, jazz, and swing result from marijuana usage,’” Morgan recited attempting to make her point.
When I lived in WA, I used to love it. I still miss the beautiful forests and mountains, and the Puget Sound….but the politics are murdering the beauty, just like how CA’s toxic politics have already ruined its beauty. It’s so sad.

Morgan previously blamed “racism” for the lack of diversity in the business.
“There are so many levels of racism in the white supremacist culture that is a part of our system that stops us,” Morgan told potguide.com.
Joy Hollingsworth, who is the owner of the family business Hollingsworth Cannabis Company, was fully supportive of Morgan, KRO 7 reports.
“She was the one who educated us on the term and how it was derogatory and we shouldn’t use it anymore,” Hollingsworth noted. “We have a lot of people, especially in the black community that went to prison over cannabis for years. That were locked up, separated from their nuclear family, which is huge.”
“It’s really painful for people to hear that word and it triggers them,” she claimed.
RACIST WORD ALERT FROM WASHINGTON STATE. @GovInslee will waste tax payer money changing the word in state documents because 1 person felt the word Marijuana is racist. The word is so over used no one bats an eye to it anymore. Garbage, crime and homeless everywhere but this? pic.twitter.com/PrKPvRjVgF

“We’ll take any win right? But we don’t want to get caught up on the performative equity piece where we’re just talking about words and not actual legislation and policy,” Hollingsworth said, calling for more diversity in the cannabis industry.
She went on to suggest that taxes from the sale of pot be redistributed to minority communities.
“We will feel like the industry has paid off when we see those funds get put into college scholarships. Maybe a family wanted to buy a home and they were from the Central District of Seattle, and they wanted to go back there because they were priced out. They could get a loan from those funds. Thinking about creative ways to make impactful scalable solutions in our community is what I’m looking for,” she said.
