Democratic New York State Senate candidate in The Bronx Christian Amato has admitted to carrying a sign boasting the vile acronym “ACAB,” which stands for “All Cops Are Bastards,” at a Black Lives Matter rally in 2020, but claims he didn’t know what the sign said when he grabbed it.
His actions were slammed by neighborhood activists and an opponent.
Amato is a self-proclaimed community organizer and strategist. He was photographed holding the anti-cop sign at a 2020 demonstration held at the Loreto Playground park in Morris Park. That picture just recently surfaced on social media and now Amato is trying to justify it.
“It’s laughable that Amato is running for Senate … He’s a weasel beyond belief,” Bronx resident Wayne Gurman, the man who took the picture of Amato at the protest told the New York Post.
St Senate candidate Christian Amato hold up a sign says ( A C A B) in street slang that translate into All Cops Are Bastards….

Gurman runs the Facebook group BRONX STRONG. He was in the mix that day because he was attending a “Back the Blue” rally at the park. While he was there he spied Amato, who is a former staffer of State Sen. Alessandra Biaggi.
To top off the Democrat marching with the violent BLM protesters, the rap group N.W.A.’s song “Fuk Da Police” was blaring in the background, according to Gurman. Even if Amato did not realize what the acronym on his sign stood for, he couldn’t help but hear the song. A demonstrator next to Amato was also carrying a sign that proclaimed “Blue Lives Don’t Matter.”
“An anarchist can’t be a state senator. He doesn’t have the character to be a state senator,” James Gisondi, who is an attorney running against Amato in the Democratic primary for NY Senate District 36, said according to the New York Post.
Unfit to hold public office at any level. I also call for Mr. Amato to resign from his seat on community planning Bd#11 if not then either The Bd or Boro President Gibson should remove him.

Amato aspires to fill the shoes of his former boss, Biaggi. He admitted to the New York Post that he was carrying the sign but disingenuously claimed he had no idea he was holding a cop-hating message.
“Someone passed me the sign and I didn’t know it said, ‘ACAB.’ I had no clue,” he asserted. “I totally grabbed the sign in haste.”
He went on to allege that he took part in the counter-protest because he believed it was “tone deaf” to hold a pro-cop rally just days after George Floyd was killed.
“The officers deserve our respect. But we need our officers to be culturally cognitive,” he arrogantly stated. “When there is social unrest, it is not the best moment to hold an event. You have to read the room.”
This is disgusting and for him to say he didn’t know what he was doing shows that he’s a liar and unfit to hold public office

Christian Amato knew what the sign he was carrying ment. He was an organizer of the anti police rally. Some in the crowd became agitated when the protesters played the song F–k the police. The people who attended the rally were there to thank the police for their service.

He went on to call the Blue Lives Matters protesters unruly and accused them of angrily confronting and taunting the Black Lives Matters demonstrators.
At one time, Amato was a Bronx Community Board 11 member. He is a former Broadway producer as well.
The leftist wannabe congressman was also fired as Biaggi’s top deputy in 2019 for an unknown reason. Amato would not divulge exactly why he was terminated. He alleges that he was never given an explanation and that he decided to leave to provide more constituent services.
Amato is not the only Democrat whose disdain for police is beginning to haunt them. Rapper Noah Weston, who is a Democratic district leader in Brooklyn, was nailed for hateful Twitter posts about police officers a week ago by the New York Post.
He faces stiff competition for Biaggi’s senate seat including lawyer Miguelina Camilo and Lisa Hofflich, a Vietnamese immigrant who previously worked for US Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.). The primary is set to take place on June 28.
