The Biden administration lashed out at Texas Governor Greg Abbott on the day that the first busload of migrants was dropped off in the nation’s capital, blaming him for the rampant inflation that is eating away at American budgets with no relief in sight.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who is counting down the days before she departs for her new career as a cable television pundit, issued a statement accusing Abbott’s inspections of trucks crossing the border of contributing to inflation and supply chain issues, both of which have existed for months, long before the Lone Star State governor issued his order for the “enhanced safety inspections” in advance of the lifting of Title 42 next month.

In a sign that the “Putin price hike” talking point could be failing to convince voters that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is wholly responsible for record inflation, especially gas prices, Psaki issued a statement on Wednesday slamming Abbott.

“Governor Abbott’s unnecessary and redundant inspections of trucks transiting ports of entry between Texas and Mexico are causing significant disruptions to the food and automobile supply chains, delaying manufacturing, impacting jobs, and raising prices for families in Texas and across the country,” wrote Psaki.

“Local businesses and trade associations are calling on Governor Abbott to reverse this decision because trucks are facing lengthy delays exceeding 5 hours at some border crossings and commercial traffic has dropped by as much as 60 percent,” the statement said. “The continuous flow of legitimate trade and travel and CBP’s ability to do its job should not be obstructed. Governor Abbott’s actions are impacting people’s jobs, and the livelihoods of hardworking American families.”

In his order that was issued last week, Abbott wrote, “As you have explained, the cartels that smuggle illicit contraband and people across our southern border do not care about the condition of the vehicles they send into Texas any more than they care who overdoses from the deadly fentanyl on board. In response to this threat, which is projected to grow in the coming months, I hereby direct the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to conduct enhanced safety inspections of vehicles as they cross international ports of entry into Texas.”

Also, on Wednesday, Gov. Abbott made good on his promise to relocate busloads of illegal immigrants from his state which is swamped with them to Washington D.C. where the city’s part-time political residents have been their biggest advocates.

The outgoing snark queen was in rare form during Wednesday’s press briefing, doubling down on pointing the finger of blame for what many have dubbed “Bidenflation” on the Texas Republican and also addressing the first of his special deliveries to “the swamp,” something that she had mocked as a political gimmick after it was announced by Abbott last week.

Asked by a reporter for comment on the new arrivals and whether she still believed that it was a “publicity stunt” Psaki served up the sarcasm.

“Well, these are all migrants who have been processed by CBP and are free to travel so it’s nice the state of Texas is helping them get to their final destination as they await in their outcome for their immigration proceedings and they’re all in immigration proceedings,” Psaki said.

Twitter reacted to Psaki’s latest effort to shift the responsibility for the worst inflation in four decades away from her boss and the disastrous effects of his far-left policies.

Psaki’s blame-shifting and excuse-making have clearly become tiresome to those who are capable of critical thinking, but she’ll fit right in at MSNBC.
