Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk took a shot at the very heart of virtue signaling as means to ends Saturday when he posted his disdain for those preaching to the choir, writing, “Peace. Peace? I hate the word.”
Musk was reportedly in Germany touring the new Tesla Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg when he observed a banner affixed to the outside of an old concrete building that read “PEACE.”
Likely inspired by the public showing of solidarity with Ukraine after Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded, that building happened to be Berghain, “one of the most famous clubs in the world,” according to Deutsche Welle.
Berghain has done at least two good things today, one of them being that “They wrote PEACE on the wall” pic.twitter.com/LK7BsGZEcz

Instead of being inspired, the outspoken CEO demonstrated that he had had his fill of displays of support in lieu of the kinds of direct support that he has shown throughout the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
They wrote PEACE on the wall at Berghain! I refused enter.

“They wrote PEACE on the wall at Berghain! I refused enter,” he tweeted out.
As Deutsche Well reported, Berghain is notoriously difficult to get into “with eager clubgoers waiting up to 7 hours on Berghain’s reopening night. They may or may not get in – the bouncers are unpredictable. Berghain is known to have the toughest door policy in Berlin.”
This has led some to speculate that Musk’s initial tweet was a cover for being turned away at the door. However, his follow-up indicated this was more than petty disappointment.
“Peace. Peace? I hate the word,” Musk wrote. “Those who do care about peace (myself aspirationally included) don’t need to hear it. And those who don’t care about peace? Well…”

For those unfamiliar with the reference, the CEO was happy to include a clip from the 1996 film adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.”

Tybalt, played by John Leguizamo recites the line as shared by Musk. The original text reads:
“What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word,
As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee:
Have at thee, coward!”
The CEO has demonstrated a penchant for Shakespeare during the crisis in Ukraine. Notably, he quoted a line from one of the witches in Macbeth prior to challenging Putin to combat.
By the pricking of my thumbs …

The self-described “free speech absolutist” has not only demonstrated that he has taken a side in the conflict, but has actively participated in efforts to defend Ukraine. His Starlink satellite system has been critical in helping maintain network links for drone use and in maintaining other strategic infrastructure goals.
This is not Musk’s first showing of ire toward the cultural groupthink that views social media hashtag activism as the cure for all the world’s ills. In the middle of March, he posted a meme that read “I Support The Current Thing” and displayed a person with numerous LGBTQ community flags in the background.

As Musk had responded to the plea by Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov when he requested the CEO aid Ukraine with Starlink, some online are hoping the entrepreneur will be their champion against the woke as well.
Rumors have swirled after Musk suggested a new platform might be needed to replace Twitter because of its continued failings on free speech. However, those cries for him to take action merely get back to his initial point.
The point he has made is for the individual to rise up and take action on behalf of the cause they believe in, not to merely cheer “the current thing” as others do something about it.

This really won’t do anything, owning 10% of a company does nothing … owning 51% that’s a whole other matter. And for those who don’t know … Qatar’s Al Jazeera owns Twitter, let that sink in, a Muslim country with ties to terrorism owns the social media millions use daily. Now remember that 51% comment SAIC Shanghi Automotive Industrial Corporation owns 51% of General Motors, and 100% of all it’s intellectual properties … meaning this is who there’s no Impala autos or any real auto designs using gas engines showing up anymore.
I also hate the word “love”, so over used. Action is louder than any word, the reason the world is in a chaos is the action is actually “hate”.
Talk is cheap!
YES!!! Elon musk strikes again!! Nothing like having someone worth a quarter of a trillion $$ on your side.
Who was it who said, “Fight you bastards, I hate peace!”
He’s now bought the biggest single-owner stake in Twitter….instead of creating a competing platform..maybe he’s ready to buy it and transform it.
Says the guy whose never served or even been in a fight. And people listen to him?
Maybe we should all sit back and take-in all the “woke” nuttiness instead? I see your point, but he’s actively engaged in doing things… like getting internet service to besieged Ukraine….and buying a major share of Twitter….hopefully in an effort to reverse their anti-conservative bias.
I do hope your right. We will see what exactly he does.
I’m with you. I’m not sure about him. He does something’s right, but what is his motive?
He is not Soros, that bastard is definitely evil 😈
At least he makes the news, you’re just blogger. LOL
