Fireworks exploded on “The View” Friday as co-host Sunny Hostin once again aggressively asked liberal commentator Ana Navarro how she could still be a loyal Republican, calling conservatives traitors in her diatribe, while Navarro shot back by asking Hostin why she is still a Catholic.

Guest co-host Chelsea Clinton attempted to be clever at the beginning of the segment, pointing out, “Lindsey Graham is still living with the consequences of the 2016 election when Donald Trump ate the Republican Party. Lindsey Graham is still living under that specter, under that shadow, or maybe in Donald Trump’s belly.”

Hostin thought that was very witty and proclaimed that she had this particular argument with Navarro frequently. This time it kicked off when they were discussing Senator Lindsey Graham, who voted to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to a Senate-confirmed position last year but has now announced he will vote against her appointment to the Supreme Court.

“It really is like ‘The Invasion of the Body Snatchers,’” Navarro said in response to Lindsey Graham’s declaration of his “no” vote. “And I … remember a couple of weeks ago when we started talking about this, I said I had some hope for Lindsey. Sunny called it right and said, you know, ‘You’re wrong on this.’”

That was when Hostin bluntly asked Navarro why she would remain loyal to the Republican Party.

The question didn’t sit well with Navarro who clapped back, “Why are you still a Catholic? You don’t agree with everything about the Catholic Church.”

“Yes, but the Catholic Church did not try to destroy democracy in this country,” asserted Hostin. “That’s very, very different. we’re talking about a political argument that doesn’t even exist anymore.”

“What party was Abraham Lincoln?” Navarro asked defensively. “Who helped pass the [National] Voter Registration Act the first time?”

“But Ana, what you have to understand is the Republican Party that you loved doesn’t exist anymore,” falsely claimed Hostin. “It’s the party of insurrectionists. It’s the party of traitors … white supremacists. It’s not the party you loved. It’s not.”

“You have to understand no matter how much you want it to happen, the Republican Party is not going to disappear,” Navarro informed Hostin. “And so in my mind what we need to do is have two strong healthy parties competing for your vote and my vote.”

“You’re the only non-loca in the party at this point!” Hostin quipped, alluding to Navarro being a “non-crazy woman.”

Clinton proceeded to jump in and ask Navarro, “When are you running?”

“I have zero intention of running, but I’m not the only non-loca,” Navarro responded, making it clear there were others like her. “There’s a lot of people who are supporting people like Liz Cheney, like Mitt Romney, like Adam Kinzinger.”

She then changed the subject to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas who is a favored subject for the co-hosts to attack.
