Fur flies on ‘The View’ as Sunny confronts Grisham, Navarro over why they’re still Republicans

The two admitted Republicans who dared to venture into the snake pit of ABC’s “The View” on Friday were put on the spot by an emotional Sunny Hostin over why they are still members of a party that has been all but declared as enemies of the state by the Biden administration.

The batty banshees were once again joined by Stephanie Grisham the former press secretary for first lady Melania Trump who may or may not be auditioning for the open spot at the table for a regular conservative punching bag that was vacated after Meghan McCain quit, and predictably, the topic turned to the former president.

During a discussion over an alleged donation drive to fund a new “Trump Force One” aircraft after the private plane that he was flying in was forced to make an emergency landing after his speech to donors in New Orleans over the weekend, Hostin jabbed Grisham and regular Ana Navarro who was sitting in for Whoopi Goldberg over why they are still Republicans.

Joy Behar set it up when she said that Trump was grifting his supporters, providing an opening for Grisham to ingratiate herself to the audience by throwing the ex-POTUS under the bus.

Behar asked, “These people who is giving him money don’t see the grift here, do they not see it?”

“No, because they believe in him,” clucked Grisham. “I was one of those people and I mean that’s why I’m really, really….” before she was cut off by Behar who said, “it’s like the invasion of the body snatchers,” a reference to the sci-fi classic.

“Well yes,” Grisham continued as she ticked off examples on her fingers. “He’s taking…. I mean he’s hawking a book right now and coins and doing everything he can to get paid by people who truly believe in him, and I want those people to know that he laughs at them behind closed doors, he does, I want people to know that, and I used to be there…”

Navarro jumped in, saying, “For years you heard him do this, right? Laugh behind closed doors, so why did it take so long to find it so objectionable?”

Catching the scent of blood in water, Hostin interjected, “I asked the same thing.”

Navarro put Grisham on the defensive, shaming her from Republican to Republican. Following some back and forth chatter, Hostin moved in for the kill.

“If we’re going to talk, let’s talk real!” she said, pointing at Navarro.

“Why are you as a Latina still part of the Republican Party?” asked Hostin who then whirled in her chair to also point her finger at the gobsmacked Grisham. “And why are you, having seen it firsthand, still part of the Republican Party,” clearly rattling the turncoat who stammered, “Because Trump’s not the Republican Party,” before grabbing her coffee mug and sipping from it.

Following more banter from Hostin, Navarro struck back.

“I think the worst thing that can happen to a minority group is to have one party take you for granted and think you’re going to vote for them because they have no other option, and to have another party that openly attacks and antagonizes you,” she said.

“And it wasn’t too long ago,” Navarro added, “it wasn’t Jurassic Park, it wasn’t dinosaurs roaming the Earth when there were people like George W. Bush who came out and openly supported the Latino majority and were able to get 44 percent of the vote and so I hope that one day there are two healthy parties competing for our vote and earning our support, not taking one for granted and antagonizing the other. That doesn’t help anybody.”

For Grisham, it was downer to end the week after her high-water mark of drawing cheers from the audience on Wednesday when she joined the co-hosts with their xenophobic mocking of Mrs. Trump’s accent.

Hostin’s outburst is yet another example of how little respect that Democrats in general, and the “woke” left in particular, have for anyone who doesn’t agree with them.
