Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) is laying the groundwork for a deeper investigation into the “laptop from hell” and election interference after the GOP sweeps the midterm elections, slapping twelve individuals from the intelligence community, White House, Facebook, and Twitter with document preservation notices.

Those being served are former DNI Director James Clapper, former CIA head Micheal Hayden, former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, former CIA boss John Brennan, former top CIA aide Nick Shapiro, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Meta Communications Director Andy Stone, former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, and current Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal.

All of them are being ordered to preserve documents that potentially show their involvement in quashing the New York Post’s expose on Hunter Biden just before the 2020 presidential election. according to Breitbart News.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced on Wednesday that Republicans sent out dozens of preservation notices to agencies and departments throughout the federal government and the Biden administration. They were ordered to preserve documents as subpoenas come down the pike issued by House Republicans after the 2022 midterm elections.

Issa’s letters are similar. They order recipients to “immediately initiate document preservation for all materials relating to questions, inquiry, conversation, strategy, and response, from 2020 to current, to the media reporting of the Hunter Biden laptop and/or its contents that first appeared in the New York Post on October 14, 2020.”

The notices advise the recipients to “[construe the request] as an instruction to preserve all documents, communications, and other information, including electronic information and metadata, that is or may be potentially responsible to this congressional inquiry.” That also covers text messages, electronic messages, or communications on encrypted software sent from official or personal devices.

Issa considers the information “essential for Congress to conduct a comprehensive fact-finding investigation into the actions by technology companies, media organizations, and political allies to suppress information and prevent public awareness of matters involving the Biden Family.”

He is putting those that attempted to suppress the story of the “laptop from hell” on notice and he will become a watchdog over the investigation when Republicans sweep the 2022 midterms.

“Big Tech, the mainstream media, and the Democrats’ deep state intelligence community want to either rewrite the history of their collusion – or erase it entirely. We’re not going to let them do that,” Issa proclaimed in a statement. “These letters are putting everyone on notice: real accountability is going to happen. And we won’t rest until the full truth is known.”

“We already know for a fact that Big Tech colluded with some of the nation’s most powerful media and most influential Democrat partisans in the intelligence community to suppress the truth, censor fact-based journalism, and cover for the Biden family,” Issa also told Fox News in a statement. “Now the full truth and complete accountability must follow.”

“This is the most consequential political scandal since Watergate, and it deserves an investigation in Congress no less robust and no less bipartisan than that one,” the congressman contended.

The move by Issa and House Republicans comes after the New York Times admitted last week that the laptop from Hunter Biden and its contents were authentic and accurate and not “Russian disinformation.”

The story from the New York Post was censored by Big Tech and the media in October 2020, keeping the reporting from Americans in an evident effort to sway the presidential election.

Politico ran with a letter that was signed by “more than 50 former senior intelligence officials” who claimed the story “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki chimed in backing the false allegations of the intelligence officials.

President Joe Biden also used it as a talking point when debating then-President Donald Trump, claiming, “there are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant. … Five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage.”

McLaughlin & Associates came out with a poll after the election that showed 36 percent of Biden voters were unaware of the story and that “13% of those said they would not have voted for Biden had they known.”

“Such a shift away from Biden would have meant President Trump would have won the election with 289 electoral votes,” the pollsters asserted.
