DeSantis issues proclamation making Emma Weyant the official womens’ swimming champ in Florida

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis isn’t letting up when it comes to the rejection of the “woke” left’s cultural jihad and on Tuesday, he continued to whack away at the hornet’s nest by disavowing the legitimacy of transgender Lia Thomas’ big win in the NCAA swimming championship.

Last week, the 22-year-old University of Pennsylvania athlete who is a biological male beat out 20-year-old Emma Weyant, an Olympic silver medalist in the 500-yard freestyle in Atlanta, taking the NCAA swimming title in a result that has become the latest flashpoint in the highly controversial political battle over the future of women’s sports as real females are presented with the obstacle of winning against competition that is physically superior to them.

On Tuesday, DeSantis struck a blow for the rights of women in sports by issuing a proclamation that the University of Virginia Olympian who is from Sarasota will be formally recognized as the “rightful winner of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s 500-yard Freestyle.”

The Sunshine State Republican tweeted out a copy of the signed proclamation from his Twitter account, “By allowing men to compete in women’s sports, the NCAA is destroying opportunities for women, making a mockery of its championships, and perpetuating a fraud.”

“In Florida, we reject these lies and recognize Sarasota’s Emma Weyant as the best women’s swimmer in the 500y freestyle,” DeSantis wrote.

“Florida rejects the NCAA’s efforts to destroy women’s athletics, disapproves of the NCAA elevating ideology over biology, and takes offense at the NCAA trying to make others complicit in a lie,” DeSantis said in the proclamation.

The governor spoke to media at a news conference in Wesley Chapel, which is near Tampa, on Tuesday where he signed a bill requiring high schoolers to take a financial literacy course.

“We need to stop allowing organizations like the NCAA to perpetuate frauds on the public, and that’s exactly what they’re doing,” DeSantis said, body slamming the “woke” college athletics organization that regulates college athletes and has previously clashed with him.

DeSantis, who has driven the left into fits of rage over the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill that prohibits educators from teaching what many believe are perverted sexual concepts to young children and who rejected the bullying of corporate China-sucklers at Disney, was given props by Twitter users for his defense of traditional American values.

DeSantis is a formidable White House candidate in 2024 if former President Donald J. Trump chooses not to run. And his bold moves continue to strike fear in the hearts of the degenerate left whose response remains spewing venom on Twitter and putting up silly “GAY” billboards across Florida that may only serve to further energize conservatives who are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore.
