Cop shot by Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend blasts ‘grimy’ attorney Ben Crump, who just met with Biden DOJ

The officer shot by Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend held nothing back in his new book where he called out “grimy” attorney Ben Crump for “piggybacking” on tragedy as new charges are sought two years later.

Former Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) Sergeant John Mattingly recently released a book titled, “12 Seconds in The Dark: A Police Officer’s Firsthand Account of the Breonna Taylor Raid” in which he details that night where LMPD was sent to issue a warrant to Kenneth Walker.

Walker opened fired on the police resulting in a leg wound for Mattingly and the death of Breonna Taylor as officers returned fire. The book also debunks the media narrative that was woven afterward. and the author made particular note of the lies that were told by Crump in the days following.

“He started the false narrative that Breonna Taylor was asleep in her bed when she was killed,” Mattingly wrote. “He said we didn’t knock or announce and in fact he claimed we changed our story from no-knock to knock and announce to fit our narrative. He claimed they called 911 as we were busting the door down, which is an absolute lie.”

The excerpt continued, “He said we were in plain clothes, which is true, but it’s misguided because he leaves out the fact we were clearly identified as POLICE with raid vests. Crump claimed we were at the wrong house and the suspect we were looking for was already in custody: 100 percent lies.”

Mattingly further supported these claims during an appearance on “The Megyn Kelly Show” where he detailed the sequence of events including Walker’s own statement that he was going to answer the door for the police. Walker, Mattingly reported, fired first and bodycam footage released from moments after the incident depicts Walker laying the blame for opening fire on Taylor.

The retired officer wrote that Crump was an example of a “grimy defense attorney” who was seeking notoriety and wealth through stories that could make national headlines. These claims are supported as two years after the incident, Crump accompanied Taylor’s mother Tamika Palmer to a meeting with the Department of Justice, the Daily Wire reported.

They’re looking into “every possible civil rights violation that could have happened that led to the death of Breonna Taylor,” Crump said promising that, “they are looking under every stone.”

“Crump is very good at tying tragedies and injustices together to skew the narrative and hype up a crowd,” Mattingly added. The new injustice that Crump is pushing is that it was wrong for the grand jury to dismiss the charges against the officers involved in the shooting and that there must be something to stick them with.

The meeting apparently went will as Crump said, “We got an affirmation that the Department of Justice is not swayed with what happens with state charges.”

This continued behavior on the part of Crump to build a fervor in the public against law enforcement has been directly linked by some to the rioting and looting that caused more than $1 billion in damages and resulted in the deaths of dozens.

Fox News’ Will Cain argued “Crump might be the single most destructive force in America” for his media appearances that and rally speeches that rile up crowds.
