‘Is Pelosi good?’ Creepy behavior at SOTU provides hilarious new memes

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) raised eyebrows during President Joe Biden’s first State of the Union (SOTU) address Tuesday night and provided the internet with a brand new meme.

Biden took centerstage to fulfill his Constitutional duty to update Congress, and therefore the nation, on the SOTU with topics including the United States involvement in Ukraine, infrastructure, the economy, and COVID. Throughout the address, Pelosi could be seen oddly grinning even when the tenor of content was somber.

However, it wasn’t until much later in the speech that the speaker’s behavior brought some to ask, “Is Pelosi good?”

Listing off the key points of his “Unity Agenda,” Biden had begun discussing the importance of supporting veterans by providing them with the care they need when they come home.

“My administration is providing assistance with job training and housing, and now helping lower-income veterans get VA care debt-free,” Biden said before addressing the need for this care.

“Our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan faced many dangers,” he went on. “One being stationed at bases breathing in toxic smoke from ‘burn pits,’ many of you have been there.”

For some unknown reason, Pelosi considered the idea of soldiers breathing in toxic smoke applause-worthy and sprung into action. However, the manner in which she did it was “weird” and “creepy.”

Of course, the reactions to this peculiar knuckle rubbing didn’t end there. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) said, “what the…” Sen. Josh Hawley’s (R-MO) press secretary Abigail Marone asked, “Is Pelosi good?”

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) simply stated, “So weird…,” and journalist Mollie Hemingway wanted to know, “Seriously, though, why was she so weird tonight?”

While these reactions were more in line with concern over the behavior of Pelosi, others had fun with the odd mannerism. Nick Gillespie of Reason suggested it may have been a secret signal.

Steven Crowder, host of “Louder with Crowder,” said this was confirmation that Pelosi is actually, “a squirrel on drugs.”

Meanwhile, Grant Addison, editor at the Washington Examiner, likened it to baking, saying, “When I see the brownies about to come out of the oven.”

Pelosi has a history of exhibiting odd behavior at State of the Union addresses, most notably when she tore up a copy of President Donald Trump’s last address in 2020. Her peculiarity Tuesday night was not limited to the knuckle rubbing.

After airing a montage of Pelosi and Vice President Kamala Harris rising repeatedly to applaud, likening it to a football game, Fox News host Laura Ingraham covered the overall failure of Biden’s speech on “The Ingraham Angle” before moving on to Pelosi’s behavior.

“She bolts up out of her seat like she’s sitting on itching powder,” Ingraham said of Pelosi’s reaction to “burn pits.”
