Camille Henderson, who is a black woman from California, is crying racism and accusing Delta Air Lines of forcing her to go to the back of one of its flights to make two white women comfortable during a trip from Atlanta to San Francisco on February 3.
Henderson was seated at a window in row 15 with two white women seated next to her, occupying the middle and aisle seats, ABC7 News reported. They reportedly complained to the stewardess about their seating assignments. Henderson recorded part of the exchange between the women and the flight attendant.
“They felt like they were ticketed first-class seats, but they couldn’t provide the tickets,” Henderson noted to the media outlet. She also said they carped about it for more than an hour.
“Unfortunately, my first-class seats are occupied,” one woman complained, according to a recording that was obtained by ABC7 News.
“They are what?” another person is heard asking in the recording.
“They’re occupied,” the woman replied.
After a flight attendant determined that Henderson was flying alone, she was allegedly asked to take another seat in the last row of the flight. She reluctantly agreed to move to the seat in the back of the plane.
She should have said no. “I prefer to stay in my ticketed assigned seat.” There is nothing the airline could have done. She was not obligated to move. It was not an emergency situation where reseating would be required. Sorry that happened but she allowed it.

“I don’t want to make it a race thing, but instead of asking the two white women that were seated next to me (to move), in an attempt to accommodate them, they basically made me have to move,” she remarked, ironically making the whole ordeal about race.
“I just don’t know why I had to move because that was the seat that I paid for, that was my assigned seat,” she whined. “As I’m walking back there it’s just humiliating. It’s like having the entire flight look at you and asking what’s going on.”
Ridiculous! She wasn’t forced. She agreed. She didn’t have to. But, she agreed to move. How’s that Delta’s fault? Yes, it’s a little embarrassing having to get out of your seat midflight under those circumstances. But she agreed to do it.

“Didn’t want to make it a race thing” but made it a race thing. The two passengers were just Karens who Karened. I’ve been moved to the back of the plane because of this bs too. Has nothing to do with race.

After returning to the Bay Area, Henderson spent the next several days attempting to contact Delta Airlines to file a complaint about her experience.
She reported the incident to a Delta customer service representative who she says didn’t understand her complaint. She asserts that the representative suggested that there was no inconvenience to her because she was simply moved to another aisle seat in economy.
Henderson also recorded the conversation and after getting unsatisfactory results, she turned the recording over to ABC7 News.
A Delta Airlines spokesperson has issued a statement on the matter, “We are looking into this situation to better understand what happened. Delta has no tolerance for discrimination in any form and these allegations run counter to our deeply-held values of respecting and honoring the diversity of our customers.”
Henderson has since vowed to “never. never again,” fly Delta.
“Me, as a black woman, I was displaced to make two white women comfortable,” she charged. “I just want them to acknowledge that they made me feel powerless, and they can’t do that to customers moving forward.”
