While Ukrainians made clear the measures needed to stop Russia, and European leaders continued to take supportive action, President Joe Biden is struggling to keep up.
Ukrainian parliament member Oleksiy Goncharenko joined Steve Hilton on Fox News’ “The Next Revolution” Sunday to provide an update on where things stand as the invasion continues. Goncharenko first expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support that the international community has shared before touching on the matter of sanctions.
“The tougher sanctions will be,” Goncharenko said, “the quicker Putin will be stopped.”
In particular, he emphasized the need to embargo Russian oil. “More than 350 civilians are killed, 16 children are killed,” Goncharenko explained, “and their blood, their innocent blood, is inside Russian gas and oil.”
While it is important from a moral standpoint, Goncharenko also said that Russia is essentially a gas station for the world and that cutting off their sale of oil would be a practical solution to cripple them within days.
Hilton then mentioned that the European Union (EU) had been taking slow action but had ramped up responses over the weekend through additional armaments, shutting down air space, and further sanctions on oligarchs. Goncharenko expressed his belief that politicians, particularly in America, have delayed action thinking Ukrainians would not last against Putin anyway.
Goncharenko pointed out that the actions from the EU over the weekend would have a direct impact on the value of the ruble and these successful measures have left some wondering what Biden is doing taking the weekend off.

The Washington Post reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy had made an impassioned plea to European leaders who felt that they were taking the blame when Biden had stated that locking Russia out of SWIFT was “not the position that the rest of Europe wishes to take.”
The decision was made to bar specific Russian banks from SWIFT, a financial messaging system, and to impose measures Hilton discussed that led to empty ATMs throughout Russia as panic set in.
“Surprised by the unusually rapid European decision, the White House scrambled over the weekend to catch up in drafting its own related measures,” officials had stated. The situation was described as “uninterrupted communication” between the White House and European Commission attempting to coordinate on new sanctions.

In the wake of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz committing finally to stand by the NATO obligations that had been agreed to, President Donald Trump is being vindicated for his efforts to solve problems before they arrived. While the White House scrambles and Biden vacations, it’s clear the current administration is harkening back to President Obama’s lead from behind strategy.
Dems are stupidly trying to blame Trump, because “orange man bad!” is their only unifying theme.
The two most important issues are European defense (each country’s own plus NATO) and Russian energy exports to Europe.
Trump was light years better on those two issues than Biden.

The narrative on the left has been that Biden‘s patience lead Europe to increase sanctions on Putin.
This story suggests the exact opposite: Biden is following, not leading… which isn’t a surprise to anyone who isn’t high on this admin’s spin.
