As Russia continues its military campaign in Ukraine with the second day of attacks, the media have been forced to acknowledge that people are dying at the hands of a brutal dictator engaged in the opening salvos of what could be a much larger war in Europe, all the more easily allowed by NATO and the United States under the leadership of … President Donald Trump?
At least that’s what legacy media wants the American people to believe.
Lara Trump joined Fox News’ “Fox and Friends First” on Friday for commentary on the mainstream media’s inability to fairly question a Democrat president no matter how grievous and deadly the mistakes might be. And since Donald Trump still lives rent-free in the headspaces of Democrats, RINOs, and pseudo-journalists everywhere – to say nothing of the possibility of his running for a non-consecutive second term as president – they might as well just blame the bad orange man who is the object of their obsession.
One graphic presented during the Fox News segment showed two very recent headlines from The Washington Post.
In the first, Eugene Robinson, who evidently does Orwellian propaganda work for the so-called newspaper, typed up a particularly obtuse article with this laughable headline:
“With Biden standing firm, Putin must wonder: Where’s Trump when I need him?”
The first paragraph of the article reads:
“If Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to gobble up another chunk of Ukraine at little or no cost to his own interests, he should have done it while Donald Trump was still president. With President Biden leading the response, Putin’s potential costs are rising — while his hoped-for benefits have evaporated.”
Sure thing, Eugene.
A second headline from an article by MSNBC’s Steve Benen reads:
“Why Putin didn’t invade Ukraine under the last U.S. administration,” which was arguably a waste of time for him to write since everyone with a functioning prefrontal cortex can answer what the headline seeks to posit.
Lara Trump said of the media at large, “They are breathlessly looking for any way to blame Donald Trump at every turn; we all know that. But they have one small problem: This didn’t happen under Donald Trump’s administration. It is happening right now with Joe Biden and the Democrats in charge of our country.”
She went on to reiterate the importance of energy independence and how self-reliance in the U.S. makes the world less reliant on Russian oil, adding that Russia now has a stranglehold on Europe it previously did not have when Trump was the U.S. president; a stranglehold which she says has allowed the dictatorship to enrich themselves enough to carry out a war against Ukraine even with the threat of sanctions from abroad.
The discussion then turned to failed Democratic presidential candidate and Biden “Climate Czar” John Kerry’s recent chowderheaded remarks on the unfolding war in Ukraine which are indicative of the Left’s perpetually misguided priorities.
As reported by BPR, Kerry spoke of his concern over the carbon emissions of war in a recent BBC interview, hours before Russian forces invaded Ukraine.
“I think hopefully, President Putin would realize that in the northern part of his country, they used to live on 66 percent of the nation that was over frozen land,” he said. “Now it’s thawing and his infrastructure is at risk, and the people of Russia are at risk.”
“And so I hope President Putin will help us to stay on track with respect to what we need to do for the climate,” Kerry added.
