Former Democratic Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard appeared on Fox News host Sean Hannity’s show Monday and blasted Vice President Kamala Harris’ confusing remarks in Munich on the looming Russian invasion of Ukraine as “embarrassing” for the United States.

She also bluntly stated that Harris doesn’t have the temperament or depth of experience to be the voice of the United States on the world stage. Gabbard asserted she has “no foreign policy understanding” nor “concept of the cost of war.”

“My gosh, this is embarrassing,” Gabbard incredulously remarked. “It’s hard to keep track of all of those jumble of words. And it’s clear she was sent there to be the voice of the United States as a purely political calculation. You and I both know she has no foreign policy background, no foreign policy understanding. She has no concept of the cost of war, nor does she have the temperament necessary to be the voice of the United States on the global stage. So, it is embarrassing to see this play out.”

“She talked about deterrence and sanctions. How do you deter someone by punishing them before they do it? It’s very simple. This is kind of like grade school understanding where if you say I’m going to punish you before you do something, wouldn’t the kid would say, ‘OK, fine. I might as well go ahead and do it anyway.’ This is not rocket science here,” she added.

“Second, talking about incurring costs. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have said we are going to incur a cost. They won’t pay the price. They are multi-millionaires. The power elite will not be negatively impacted. Who will pay the price? It’s hard-working Americans across the country and people around the world who are already paying the price and will continue to see things worsen,” Gabbard remarked.

“Putin has made clear all along that their security, in his mind, is what’s at stake here,” she noted later in the interview making it clear that she does not support standing against Russia. “And they do not want to see U.S. and NATO troops…”

“Putin also said Ukraine is not a country and he has been saying this many, many years, so these territorial ambitions have existed a long time,” Hannity pointed out.

“I want to stay focused on the security component,” Gabbard pushed back, but admitted Putin’s claims about Ukraine “go way back.”

“But with regards to U.S. and NATO, just as we would not want Russia to come in and start putting their tanks and missiles on our borders – either with Mexico or elsewhere – Russia says, ‘Hey, I don’t want U.S. and NATO coming and making their military on our borders within Ukraine,'” she commented.

“Guess what – the United States doesn’t want that either,” Gabbard added. “NATO countries don’t want that either. So why not recognize – say, hey, this is something that actually is common ground.”

“It is highly unlikely Ukraine will ever become a member of NATO,” she told Hannity. “Let’s take it off the table and immediately that would de-escalate these tensions and take that reasoning away from Putin for him to build up this presence on Ukraine’s border.”

Hannity said he might be “a little more suspicious than you in believing that, I think, this is very personal for Putin.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees on Monday recognizing two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine as independent and ordering Russian troops into those regions. Tanks and soldiers began arriving in eastern Ukraine early Tuesday.

Putin reportedly told then-President George W. Bush at a meeting in 2008 that Ukraine was not a country, according to Newsweek. On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov questioned if Ukraine had the right to sovereignty. All of that plays into the Russian aggression being played out on the world stage.
