Joy Behar’s pathetic excuse for Pelosi’s warning to US Olympians sounds VERY familiar

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did her very best to put the fear of God into Olympic athletes this week, warning them not to speak out against the “ruthless” Chinese government, and “The View” co-host Joy Behar thinks she knows why: our children… our children… our children.

“She’s being maternal, I think,” said Behar. “You know, Nancy is Mamaleh. She’s always like, ‘I’m for the children. It’s for the children.’ She cares about the kids.”

The children… Now, where have we heard that before?

Oh, that’s right. Nancy told us, in a statement announcing she is once again running for reelection.

A statement that was immediately mocked on social media and beyond.

The Blaze’s “News and Why It Matters” host, Sara Gonzales, responded with a bang-on impression of the aging Speaker.

And Fox News’s Greg Gutfeld ripped into Pelosi, stating, “‘Our children our children, our children.’ The last time I heard that it was from a parent filing the police report outside CNN.”

Behar’s sycophantism would be equally funny, were it not for the fact that the Chinese Communist Party is committing genocide against members of its own Muslim Uyghur population, “disappears” those who practice Falun Gong, and is threatening Taiwan’s very right to exist.

Many, such as GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, believe Pelosi’s chilling warning to U.S. athletes in Beijing wasn’t made out of mother love, but rather to scare potential protesters into silence so as not to upset China.

“Speaker Pelosi doesn’t want to upset the Chinese Communist Party. So she’s warning US Olympians to stay silent about China’s atrocities,” McCarthy tweeted. “No surprise this comes right as Democrats are trying to jam through the 3,000-page ‘America Concedes Act’ that helps China but hurts America.”

The fear among some Olympians is palpable.

Jewher Ilham, the daughter of an imprisoned Uyghur scholar, told Fox News: “I know that the Chinese government wants zero discussion on human rights during this Olympics.”

“I’m afraid China’s government will use the Olympics as a propaganda tool,” Ilham said. “It’s very concerning.”

Ilham, herself a Uyghur refugee and human rights advocate, stated, “I’m afraid this Olympics, it will be another tool for the Chinese government to use to justify their actions and… to claim that people are indeed living in a happy place and they’re financially stable and there are no human rights happening.”

Meanwhile, a Dutch reporter for NOS was physically pulled away from the camera during a live report.

“Our correspondent @sjoerddendaas was pulled away from the camera by security guards at 12:00 pm live in the NOS Journaal,” NOS tweeted. “Unfortunately, this is increasingly becoming a daily reality for journalists in China. He is fine and was able to finish his story a few  minutes later.”

His crime?

Apparently, his camera angle wasn’t showing Beijing’s Bird’s Nest Stadium from the most flattering of angles.
