She went away but quickly returned with a vengeance as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ended her brief hiatus from Twitter with a Tuesday missive attacking Senator Joe Manchin for thwarting legislation that would aid Democrats in radically transforming America for the worse.
The New York City congresswoman had just announced that she was taking a break from her preferred social media platform on Monday when during an Instagram Q & A she was queried about her recent inactivity by a user who asked, “When will you come back to twitter?? You’re missed.”
AOC who had caught COVID after she was caught partying maskless in Miami cited the illness as a reason for her diminished presence as well as the “negativity” on the platform as the reason for her recent low profile, “Yeah, when I got COVID, I turned off all my devices, which means I wasn’t really on social media that much or anything like that,” she responded.
She added, “People kind of fight and gossip and all this other stuff so much, but – and there’s a lot of negativity on there,” she said. “But I’ll be back, don’t worry. Just feel like a break.”
But alas, it was too good to be true.
The attention-addicted socialist firebrand just couldn’t help herself, returning to the platform less than 24 hours after she announced her “break” to uncork a missive against the West Virginia Democrat who has been a major obstacle to President Joe Biden’s cornerstone “Build Back Better” agenda, a monstrously expensive social engineering package that is a Trojan horse for much of the Green New Deal policies that AOC has championed.
“Seniors, kids, & people with disabilities in my community have been sleeping with bubble jackets on in 18 degree nights, despite paying rent, bc the NYCHA funding to fix their heating and capital needs is in BBB,” AOC wrote.
She also tossed in a talking point that has gained traction with leftists about the senator’s houseboat, “Where should I direct them to wait out the cold? Manchin’s yacht?”

Ocasio-Cortez’s triumphant return came in response to Manchin’s shoveling dirt on the grave of Biden’s BBB legislation, “It’s dead,” he said on Tuesday after being asked by a reporter for a progress update on the controversial bill.
She also tweeted to recognize the lunar new year which is celebrated in Asian counties including China.
Happy Lunar New Year!
May the year of the Tiger be filled with fearlessness, health and peace for you and your loved ones! #虎年大吉

It had been a rough month for the “Squad” queen who was roasted on Twitter over her hypocrisy after images of her post-Christmas visit to Florida to soak up some freedom went viral, putting AOC on the defensive and lashing out at Republicans who she seemed to suggest were upset because they couldn’t have sex with her and that they were obsessed with her boyfriend’s feet after Riley Roberts’ pasty white legs and Birkenstocks drew mockery.
It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women,& LGBT+ people in general.
These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird

Shortly after returning from her Sunshine State soiree, AOC had the ultimate humiliation inflicted upon her when she came down with COVID after partying maskless in a Miami drag bar and retreated to recover, briefly emerging with an update to her legions of adoring fans that the Omicron variant was not “mild” in an Instagram post that read like a condensed version of The Communist Manifesto.
COVID-stricken AOC surfaces with update: Omicron not ‘mild,’ returning to work after 5 days ‘sociopathic’ https://t.co/6LxGfmoxht

“The idea of forcing people to work just 5 days after symptoms start is sociopathic and 100% informed by a culture that accepts sacrificing human lives for profit margins as a fair trade. The good news is that we have an antidote: community,” she wrote in an appeal to the collectivism that she has promoted since the former bartender exploded onto the political scene.
AOC’s fellow Twitter users reacted to her abrupt reversal.
Manchin seems to pull AOC out of her Twitter break because of negative comments, that lasted less than 24 hours https://t.co/YkrprGrS5e

But but but I was reliably informed by AOC on IG that she was taking a break from Twitter. She couldn't last a single freaking DAY???? https://t.co/DTRDtt3HQ4
