An American citizen has been charged for her apparent involvement with the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) that included leading an all-female battalion and planning a proposed attack on a college campus and shopping mall within the borders of the United States.

Allison Elizabeth Fluke-Ekren allegedly “considered any attack that did not kill a large number of individuals to be a waste of resources,” a memo in support of detention read.

The former Kansas resident and mother of five children apparently trained both women and children to support similar lethal acts.

“Fluke-Ekren has been a fervent believer in the radical terrorist ideology of ISIS for many years, having traveled to Syria to commit or support violent jihad. Fluke-Ekren translated her extremist beliefs into action by serving as the appointed leader and organizer of an ISIS military battalion, directly training women and children in the use of AK-47 assault rifles, grenades, and suicide belts to support the Islamic State’s murderous aims,” read the court document.

According to a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) news release, Fluke-Ekren was initially apprehended in Syria before she was transferred to FBI custody on Friday and is expected to appear in Alexandria at the federal courthouse on Monday at 2:00 p.m.

At least six eyewitness accounts corroborate aspects of Fluke-Ekren’s radical jihadist ideology from 2014 to 2017 according to an affidavit penned by Special Agent with the FBI David C. Robins.

One witness claimed the former Kansas resident wanted to attack a shopping mall in the United States by remotely detonating a car filled with explosives in the parking structure or basement.

Another account in the complaint from an eyewitness who met Fluke-Ekren in 2014 documents an alleged interaction with Fluke-Ekren who wanted to “dress like infidels (non-believers) and drop off a backpack with explosives” at a specific American college campus because she was “seeking vengeance.” Fluke-Ekren was inspired by an airstrike that she believed the United States was responsible for that killed innocent children near al-Bab. Although Fluke-Ekren had permanently moved from the United States in 2011, she apparently told the eyewitness that she didn’t have to concern herself with how to enter the United States because “she knew how to get into the U.S. from Mexico.”

Fluke-Ekren could face up to 20 years in prison if she is convicted but the FBI press release indicates that “actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties.”

Many people took issue with the proposed sentencing for supporting a terrorist organization.

And only a 20 year sentence?? Should be death.

Others took issue with the proposal to sneak into the United States through the southern border.

Her plan included sneaking through the Mexico border. Good thing @JoeBiden is securing it. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
